Chicago-headquartered IT services and consulting firm AHEAD has opened a new office in Bengaluru, expanding its India operations and strengthening engineering capabilities across AI, cloud, cybersecurity and platform engineering.

The Bengaluru office becomes AHEAD’s third location in India after Gurugram and Hyderabad.

The company said its India operations have become an important part of its global delivery model, supporting consulting, engineering and managed services engagements for enterprise customers worldwide.

With the addition of the Bengaluru facility, AHEAD now has over 700 employees across its India Centre of Excellence.

The company said the expansion will help increase engineering capacity and supporting growing demand for enterprise transformation initiatives involving AI, cloud modernisation, cybersecurity, automation and digital platforms.

Bengaluru was selected due to its large pool of engineering talent across AI, cloud, platform engineering and product development. The city has become a preferred location for global technology companies looking to build specialised engineering teams that support large-scale transformation programmes.

According to AHEAD, its India centre of excellence (CoE) currently supports global customers across AI and cloud infrastructure, data and analytics, enterprise automation, ServiceNow-led service management, networking, cybersecurity and digital platform engineering.

The Bengaluru office will further strengthen the company’s capabilities in platform engineering and AI-led delivery.

AHEAD’s EVP, services and consulting, Keith Odom, said the expansion forms part of the company’s broader growth strategy in India and will help strengthen capabilities around digital experiences and enterprise workflow platforms.

He added that AHEAD’s India teams are integrated into global enterprise engagements and manage end-to-end workstreams across customer transformation projects.

Growing enterprise demand for integrated environments

The company’s focus on platform engineering reflects growing enterprise demand for integrated environments that bring together infrastructure, applications, automation and security services.

As organisations accelerate AI adoption, many are also modernising the underlying technology platforms required to support new workloads and business processes.

AHEAD said its India teams play a role across both consulting and delivery functions, helping customers build and manage technology environments spanning cloud infrastructure, enterprise platforms and operational workflows.

AHEAD India’s managing director, Sumed Marwaha, said the opening of three offices in less than three years highlights the growing role India plays within the company’s global operations.

He said Bengaluru provides access to specialised engineering talent, particularly across AI, cloud and platform engineering, and will support the company’s plans to continue expanding its engineering workforce.

The expansion comes as global technology services firms increase investments in India to support high-value engineering work rather than traditional delivery functions alone.

Over the past few years, India has become a key location for building capabilities around AI development, cloud engineering, cybersecurity operations, enterprise platforms and digital product development.

Many multinational technology companies are expanding engineering centres in the country to support global customers and accelerate technology transformation programmes.

Demand for specialised engineering talent has also increased as enterprises move beyond isolated technology deployments and focus on integrating AI, automation, data platforms and security capabilities into broader business operations.

For service providers, this has created opportunities to build expertise across platform engineering, cloud-native architectures, enterprise automation and AI-enabled workflows.

AHEAD’s latest expansion positions its India operations as a strategic engineering hub supporting global enterprise customers. As organisations continue investing in AI and cloud transformation, access to skilled engineering talent is becoming important for technology providers looking to scale delivery capabilities and support complex enterprise environments.
