Airtel Business, ITI partner to deliver connectivity, sovereign cloud and cybersecurity solutions

The collaboration will target enterprises across regulated sectors including banking and PSUs.

Airtel Business and ITI Limited have entered into a strategic collaboration to combine technology and engineering capabilities and help enterprises modernise legacy infrastructure, strengthen security and improve operational efficiency.

The partnership will bring together enterprise connectivity, data centre and sovereign cloud services, IoT, AI-powered solutions, cybersecurity and LEO satellite services as part of an integrated digital infrastructure offering.

The companies will target businesses dealing with fragmented legacy environments, rising cybersecurity risks, growing data requirements and the need for greater operational agility.

It will provide nationwide digital and telecom infrastructure combining high-speed enterprise connectivity with secure data centre and sovereign cloud services.

The connectivity portfolio will include optical fibre connectivity (OFC), GPON, SD-WAN and private 4G/5G networks.

The companies will also integrate industrial IoT asset tracking, AI-powered analytics and full-stack cybersecurity capabilities into the offering.

This will allow enterprises to address connectivity, infrastructure, security and data requirements through a combined technology stack rather than managing these capabilities separately.

The platform is designed particularly for regulated sectors such as banking and PSUs, where data sovereignty, security and regulatory requirements are important considerations.

ITI Limited chairman and managing director Rajesh Rai said the two companies will work together to identify and fulfil customer requirements around digital transformation, connectivity, hyperscale data centres, cybersecurity and IoT.

The collaboration will combine ITI’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities and customer reach with Airtel Business’ enterprise connectivity and digital infrastructure capabilities.

Sovereign cloud and data centre focus

Sovereign infrastructure is a key part of the collaboration. Airtel Business CEO Sharat Sinha said enterprises “need infrastructure that is resilient, sovereign and regulatorily compliant” as India moves into its [next phase] of digital growth.

The partnership will bring sovereign cloud and secure data centre services together with enterprise connectivity and cybersecurity. The companies said this approach will help businesses modernise legacy environments while improving digital resilience and business continuity.

The offering will also support organisations that need to manage growing volumes of enterprise data while maintaining control over their infrastructure and meeting regulatory requirements.

The partnership will include AI-powered analytics and industrial IoT capabilities alongside the connectivity and infrastructure layer.

Cybersecurity will also be integrated across the stack, with the companies positioning full-stack security capabilities alongside connectivity, cloud and data centre services.

The collaboration will also include LEO satellite services as part of the broader digital and telecom infrastructure portfolio.

Defence and national security

Beyond enterprise requirements, Airtel Business and ITI will also explore solutions to support the defence and security needs of the country.

The companies said this effort will focus on innovation and support the government's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

ITI, India's first PSU established after independence, has capabilities spanning telecom and technology manufacturing.

Airtel Business, the enterprise arm of Bharti Airtel, provides solutions across secure connectivity, sovereign cloud and data centre services, cybersecurity, IoT and cloud-based communications.
