Check Point appoints Krishnan V V as India and South Asia MD, with partner expansion part of mandate
Former Palo Alto Networks executive will oversee business strategy, P&L and go-to-market execution while strengthening customer, government and partner relationships across the region.
Check Point Software Technologies has appointed Krishnan V V as Managing Director and Country Head for India and South Asia, giving the industry veteran a mandate that includes expanding the company’s partner ecosystem as it increases its focus on AI security.
Krishnan will oversee business strategy, P&L performance, go-to-market execution and organisational development across India and South Asia.
His priorities include deepening strategic customer engagement, strengthening executive and government relationships, expanding the partner ecosystem and increasing adoption of Check Point’s prevention-first cybersecurity platform.
Krishnan will oversee Check Point’s four strategic security areas — Hybrid Mesh Network Security, Workspace Security, Exposure Management and AI Security — while focusing on customer engagement, government relationships and partner expansion across India and South Asia.
"India and South Asia are at an important inflection point. As organisations modernise their infrastructure, adopt cloud and AI, and manage an increasingly sophisticated threat landscape, cyber security must become a business enabler,” said Krishnan.
“My focus will be to work with our customers, partners and teams to deliver measurable cyber resilience through a unified, prevention-first platform to secure India's next phase of digital and AI-led growth," he added.
For Check Point’s channel ecosystem, partner expansion is an explicit part of Krishnan’s new mandate. The company says he will focus on strengthening relationships across its customer and partner base while building high-performing teams across the region.
Krishnan joins Check Point after serving as country director – BFSI at Palo Alto Networks, where he led strategic growth and customer outcomes across India’s financial services sector.
His earlier leadership roles at Seclore, Symantec, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Wipro included building and scaling sales and partner organisations and developing enterprise and government relationships across India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
His experience across enterprise sales, cybersecurity and partner organisations comes as Check Point looks to take its broader security portfolio into organisations dealing with complex technology environments.
India plays a larger role in Check Point’s global operations
The appointment also comes against the backdrop of Check Point’s broader investment in India. The company describes India as one of its most strategic growth markets and a key hub for technology, talent and innovation.
Check Point operates its largest R&D centre outside Israel in India, with the centre contributing to global product architecture, cyber defence innovation and AI-driven security capabilities.
That gives the India operation a role beyond sales and go-to-market execution, with local engineering and R&D capabilities contributing to the company’s global security portfolio.
Krishnan will report to Ruma Balasubramanian, President, Asia Pacific & Japan, and become part of Check Point’s regional leadership organisation.
Balasubramanian said India is at the centre of major technology and business transformations, with organisations looking for security partners that can address networks, cloud environments, workspaces and AI systems.
Krishnan brings over three decades of leadership experience to the role, with his career spanning cybersecurity, enterprise technology and technology services.
His latest appointment places that experience across customers, partners and internal teams at the centre of Check Point’s India and South Asia growth strategy.
