Deloitte India to lead Avolution ABACUS implementations in BFSI

The alliance combines Avolution’s enterprise architecture and AI governance platform with Deloitte India’s technology strategy and transformation capabilities, with India serving as the lead market for South Asia.

The man holds in his hand a jigsaw puzzle. Business solutions, success and strategy concept.

Deloitte India has entered into an alliance with Avolution to bring enterprise architecture and AI governance into broader technology transformation programmes, with the initial focus on banking, insurance and financial services organisations across South Asia.

Under the alliance, Deloitte India will lead the implementation of Avolution’s ABACUS platform, combining the software’s enterprise modelling, impact analysis and AI governance capabilities with Deloitte’s technology strategy, enterprise architecture and transformation expertise.

The aim is to help organisations build a connected view of business and technology environments and make decisions around technology investments, modernisation, AI adoption and governance. India will serve as the lead market for the initial South Asia focus.

The alliance adds a platform layer to Deloitte’s existing enterprise architecture and technology advisory work, while Avolution gains access to Deloitte’s transformation and implementation capabilities to take ABACUS into larger enterprise programmes.

ABACUS will help bring together information on applications, data, technology and AI capabilities to provide organisations with a connected view of their technology landscape.

The platform’s adaptive enterprise modelling and impact analysis capabilities can help organisations understand dependencies, potential risks and the delivery implications of technology changes. Its AI governance capabilities will help organisations track AI model usage, risk and compliance as AI adoption expands across the enterprise.

Deloitte India will use these capabilities alongside its enterprise architecture, business transformation, operating model design and technology advisory services.

The objective is to connect architecture insights with wider transformation programmes, allowing CIOs and business leaders to assess technology priorities against business strategy, understand the implications of change and make decisions around technology investments and governance.

Deloitte India, partner, technology strategy and transformation, Aakash Tyagi, said enterprise architecture is becoming an important part of technology modernisation as organisations increase use of digital technologies and AI.

“Through our alliance with Avolution, we are combining Deloitte India's technology strategy and transformation capabilities with the power of the ABACUS platform to help organisations address technology debt, strengthen AI governance and make more informed investment decisions,” he said.

The alliance also brings enterprise architecture into the AI governance conversation. As organisations deploy AI models and capabilities, the companies see visibility across the technology estate as a requirement for understanding where AI is being used, the associated risks and the governance and compliance implications.

Deloitte to lead implementation as alliance expands

The implementation role gives Deloitte a direct role in taking ABACUS into customer environments and connecting the platform with broader transformation initiatives.

This includes using enterprise architecture insights to support technology modernisation, operating model changes and investment decisions, rather than treating architecture as a standalone technology exercise.

Avolution’s chief executive officer, Richard Ward, said the combination of Deloitte’s delivery capabilities and ABACUS would give complex enterprises greater visibility into their technology environments.

“Every organisation wants to move faster with AI, but you cannot automate what you cannot see,” Ward said.

The initial focus will be on banking, insurance and financial services organisations across South Asia, with India as the lead market. These sectors will form the starting point for the joint offering as the companies look to apply enterprise architecture and AI governance to larger transformation programmes.

Beyond the initial focus, Deloitte India and Avolution plan to develop industry-specific business architecture frameworks, expand their enterprise transformation capabilities and introduce integrated value realisation services.

The companies will also explore opportunities across government, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing and energy, alongside broader regional engagements and co-innovation.
