Exclusive Networks expands into human-centric security with Mimecast partnership
The distributor will bring Mimecast's email, collaboration and insider-risk protection platform to India as organisations grapple with AI-generated phishing, mailbox compromise and business email attacks.
Exclusive Networks has partnered with Mimecast to bring email security, collaboration threat protection, insider-risk management and data governance capabilities to customers in India, as organisations face a growing wave of attacks targeting employees rather than infrastructure.
Under the partnership, Exclusive Networks will offer Mimecast's security platform across email and collaboration protection, insider risk management, data protection, governance, compliance and security behaviour management.
The agreement expands the distributor's security portfolio into an area focused on protecting users, communications and business data.
The announcement comes as phishing, business email compromise (BEC), mailbox takeovers and AI-generated social engineering attacks become more sophisticated.
Exclusive Networks argues that organisations can no longer rely solely on infrastructure protection when attackers are targeting employees and communication workflows.
According to the companies, the partnership is intended to address threats that originate through email and collaboration environments, where attackers increasingly exploit trust, urgency and human behaviour rather than technical vulnerabilities.
The Mimecast platform draws on 24 trillion behavioural signals annually and over 20 years of behavioural intelligence to detect phishing, ransomware and business email compromise before information leaves the organisation.
Exclusive Networks’ regional general manager, India and SAARC, Veeranna Ganigere said the threat landscape is shifting alongside rapid digital adoption across Indian businesses.
"Indian businesses are digitising at pace, and attackers have followed them into the inbox, with AI-generated phishing, compromised mailboxes and fake GST and refund lures timed to filing deadlines. Securing the infrastructure is no longer enough when the target is the person," said Ganigere.
He added that the partnership gives Exclusive Networks a way to address attacks focused on users and communication channels rather than networks and endpoints alone.
The companies are positioning behavioural intelligence as a key differentiator, arguing that understanding user activity patterns and communication behaviour provides an additional layer of protection against increasingly convincing phishing and impersonation attempts.
Mimecast gains wider India reach through Exclusive Networks
For Mimecast, the agreement provides access to Exclusive Networks' distribution reach and technical capabilities in the Indian market.
Mimecast senior channel account manager, Lara Yousuf, said the partnership is designed to put protection closer to customers facing modern email and collaboration threats.
According to Yousuf, the platform's behavioural intelligence capabilities are aimed at identifying threats that may already be operating within compromised mailboxes before they result in business disruption.
Mimecast vice president regional sales, Middle East and India at said AI is lowering the barrier for phishing and social engineering attacks, increasing the need for security approaches built around behavioural intelligence rather than infrastructure controls alone.
The partnership signals a growing demand for email security, collaboration protection and human-risk management as organisations expand cloud collaboration environments and confront sophisticated phishing campaigns. It also creates opportunities around insider-risk management, data governance and compliance, areas that are becoming more important as enterprises manage larger volumes of business and customer data.
As cybersecurity spending shifts towards protecting users, identities and communications, the partnership highlights how distributors are broadening security portfolios beyond traditional infrastructure-focused products to address threats that originate through everyday business interactions.
