Fractal bets on India’s enterprise AI opportunity with dedicated business unit

The company will lead with its agentic AI platform, Cogentiq, as it expands its engagement with large enterprises, GCCs and public-sector organisations.

Fractal Analytics has launched a dedicated India Business Unit (India BU), signalling a sharper focus on what it sees as a growing enterprise AI opportunity in the country as large organisations look to scale AI adoption and business transformation initiatives.

The company said the new business unit will help large Indian enterprises accelerate transformation using its enterprise agentic AI platform, Cogentiq, and its broader portfolio of AI products and platforms.

According to Fractal, the move comes amid increasing demand from Indian enterprises looking to translate AI investments into business outcomes at scale.

"We've seen an increase in interest from Indian enterprises looking to move beyond AI pilots and scale AI-driven transformation across their businesses," said Srikanth Velamakanni, co-founder, group CEO and vice chairman, Fractal.

"This growing demand, combined with India's rapidly evolving AI ecosystem, makes this the right time for us to establish a dedicated India Business Unit."

The company said it has already worked with multiple Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India, supporting enterprise transformation programmes across the region.

Fractal added that its Cogentiq suite has gained traction among institutions in India, providing a foundation for the dedicated India-focused business.

Rather than positioning itself solely as an AI services provider, Fractal is leading its India strategy with its own AI products and platforms, including Cogentiq, which it describes as an enterprise agentic AI platform.

The company believes Indian enterprises are entering a phase where the focus is shifting towards enterprise-wide adoption of AI, operationalisation and measurable business outcomes.

Leadership team put in place

To lead the new India Business Unit, Fractal has appointed Rishi Seth as head of the India Business Unit.

The India BU will operate under Fractal's APAC practice, led by Sandeep Dutta, chief practice officer and head APAC.

Dutta said organisations are looking for partners capable of delivering AI-led business outcomes rather than isolated technology deployments.

"Indian enterprises are at an inflection point in their AI journey. Organisations are looking for trusted partners who can deliver business outcomes at scale," Dutta said.

He added that Fractal's combination of AI capabilities, products and domain expertise positions it to support enterprise transformation initiatives across the Indian market.

The company said its India strategy builds on several ongoing AI initiatives.

Fractal was selected under the IndiaAI Mission to develop a Large Reasoning Model (LRM) for India and recently partnered with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to deploy AI-powered citizen health services using Vaidya.ai, which it describes as India's first healthcare multimodal reasoning platform.

These initiatives, along with its enterprise AI portfolio, are expected to support the company's broader push into India's AI market.

The move reflects growing demand among large enterprises and GCCs for platforms that can operationalise AI across business functions rather than limit deployments to isolated use cases.
