Infosys completes Syngenta’s global SAP S/4HANA transformation across 80 countries
The joint programme consolidates multiple ERP environments into a single digital core supporting more than 10,000 employees across Syngenta’s Crop Protection business, with AI capabilities supporting routine automation and standardisation.
Infosys has completed the implementation of a global SAP S/4HANA platform for Syngenta’s Crop Protection business, consolidating enterprise resource planning (ERP) environments into a single digital core supporting more than 10,000 employees across 80 countries.
The programme, called Crop Protection Core (CP Core), was delivered jointly by Infosys and Syngenta.
Infosys executive vice president and global head of manufacturing Jasmeet Singh said the successful implementation reflects the precision, industry expertise and execution required for large-scale ERP transformations.
“Together with Syngenta, we have simplified the enterprise landscape, established a modern digital core, and created a scalable platform for continuous innovation,” Singh said.
He added that the programme builds on Infosys’ longstanding collaboration with Syngenta, combining its understanding of the agricultural technology company’s business with capabilities from Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt.
It aims to simplify Syngenta’s technology landscape, strengthen governance and improve visibility across its global operations, while establishing a foundation for future innovation.
The platform brings together research, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, finance and commercial functions. Infosys said the transformation also reduced core customisations in line with SAP best practices, creating a more standardised enterprise environment.
For Infosys, the implementation draws on its enterprise transformation capabilities alongside Infosys Topaz, its AI-first services and solutions offering, and Infosys Cobalt, its cloud offerings.
Syngenta’s CP Core programme brings multiple ERP environments onto one global platform, giving the Crop Protection business a common digital foundation across its key functions.
The consolidation will help simplify the underlying technology landscape and improve collaboration between teams operating across different functions and geographies. The platform provides visibility across the business and strengthens governance through increased standardisation.
Reducing core customisations in line with SAP best practices is another part of the programme. The approach is intended to simplify the technology environment and establish a stable base for future changes and innovation.
Syngenta said the transformation provides employees with a simpler and more reliable way to work, helping teams improve agility and focus on innovation and serving farmers across its markets.
Feroz Sheikh, chief information and digital officer at Syngenta, said CP Core gives employees a more reliable way to work and supports the company’s efforts to serve farmers across its global markets.
“By bringing our operations onto one modern digital foundation, we are strengthening collaboration, improving agility, and enabling our teams to focus on advancing innovation and delivering the science and solutions that growers rely on,” Sheikh said.
He added that the programme had simplified Syngenta’s technology landscape and established a platform for future innovation, crediting Infosys with playing an instrumental role in the transformation.
AI capabilities support process modernisation
The implementation also incorporates Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt. Infosys Topaz uses generative and agentic AI technologies across its services, solutions and platforms, while Infosys Cobalt provides cloud offerings.
According to Infosys, these capabilities helped modernise business processes, improve data quality and establish a trusted enterprise data foundation.
AI capabilities introduced through the programme are intended to automate routine activities and support greater standardisation. The company said people remain central to critical business decisions.
The stated objective is to use the simplified digital core and improved data foundation to support future innovation, rather than to describe a specific new AI deployment or a measured return on investment.
Syngenta employs over 30,000 people across over 90 countries and operates through its Crop Protection and Seeds business units.
The completed CP Core transformation applies specifically to its Crop Protection business, with the new platform supporting more than 10,000 employees across 80 countries.
The programme establishes a common digital foundation for Syngenta’s global Crop Protection operations.
