Infosys Finacle wins multi-country banking transformation deal with Investec
The multi-country deployment will migrate Investec from legacy platforms to a cloud-native Finacle SaaS platform on Microsoft Azure, creating an AI-ready banking foundation.
Investec has selected the Infosys Finacle Digital Banking Solution Suite on Microsoft Azure as part of a multi-country banking transformation programme that will modernise its operations across South Africa, the UK, Mauritius and the Channel Islands.
The international bank and wealth manager will migrate from its legacy banking platforms to a cloud-native Finacle Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, establishing a technology foundation to support its next phase of digital growth while improving operational agility and regulatory compliance.
The deployment includes Finacle's Deposits Suite, Lending Suite, Virtual Accounts Management and Liquidity Management Solution, all running on a multi-region SaaS platform hosted on Microsoft Azure.
The deal highlights where banking transformation spending is moving, creating opportunities for partners around cloud migration, API integration, AI readiness and managed banking services as financial institutions replace legacy core platforms.
Infosys Finacle said the new platform will provide Investec with real-time data capabilities and AI foundations to support future AI adoption across its banking operations.
The company said the transformation will help the bank improve operational efficiency, enhance regulatory compliance and accelerate innovation while enabling personalised banking experiences.
The Finacle Lending Suite will support faster lending growth through end-to-end digital lending journeys, while Virtual Accounts Management will strengthen cash management capabilities by simplifying collections, payments and real-time reconciliation for corporate customers.
The Liquidity Management Solution will provide real-time visibility into cash positions and working capital across business entities, helping the bank improve liquidity optimisation and strengthen financial controls.
Another key component of the transformation is Finacle's API-led architecture, which will enable Investec to integrate easily with fintech ecosystems and introduce new banking services faster.
The cloud-native SaaS deployment through Microsoft Azure is also expected to provide the scalability, resilience and performance required to support the bank's evolving business needs.
Digital becomes central to banking transformation
Investec Group's global head of digital and technology, Lyndon Subroyen, said the programme marks a milestone in the bank's digital transformation strategy.
"Our partnership with Infosys Finacle and Microsoft Azure marks a step change in our digital transformation journey," Subroyen said.
"We are building a stronger digital foundation that allows us to scale with our clients, deliver a more seamless and personalised experience, and operate with greater precision."
He added that digital technology is no longer simply supporting the business but has become central to how the bank plans to grow, strengthen client relationships and improve operational efficiency.
For Infosys Finacle, the engagement signals increasing demand from financial institutions for cloud-native banking platforms capable of supporting AI, open banking and large-scale digital transformation.
Infosys Finacle chief executive officer Sajit Vijayakumar said the company's next-generation banking platform will help banks accelerate innovation while strengthening operational agility.
"Our next-generation, cloud-native banking solutions are designed to help institutions like Investec accelerate innovation, strengthen operational agility, and deliver more intelligent and personalised experiences at scale," Vijayakumar said.
He added that the combination of open APIs, event-driven architecture and AI-ready data foundations will enable banks to respond more quickly to changing customer expectations while creating new growth opportunities.
