Kyndryl, Bridgepath partner to move GCCs beyond labour arbitrage

The companies say enterprises are rethinking traditional delivery models as AI becomes embedded into how work is designed, delivered and governed.

Kyndryl and GCC consulting firm Bridgepath Innovations have partnered to help enterprises design and operate as AI-native Global Capability Centers (GCCs).

According to the companies, the traditional labour-arbitrage-led GCC structures are reaching their limits as AI becomes part of delivery, operations and decision-making. The companies will help enterprises design, build, operate and scale GCCs where AI is embedded into operating models from the outset rather than added as a layer on top of existing processes.

According to the companies, this will help organisations improve productivity, accelerate project delivery, make better use of talent and build more scalable operating structures.

Prashobh Chandralayam, vice president and global leader, GCC at Kyndryl, said enterprises are reassessing conventional GCC strategies as AI reshapes how global delivery models operate.

"Enterprises are re-evaluating traditional GCC models as labour-arbitrage-led approaches reach their limits and AI is fundamentally reshaping how enterprises design and operate their global delivery models," Chandralayam said.

The partnership centres on a structured AI-native GCC framework that combines digital foundations, data capabilities, governance structures and AI-driven decision-making.

The companies said the framework will help organisations establish digital and data foundations, scale through defined service structures, incorporate AI into decision-making processes and develop internal capabilities required to sustain evolving operating models.

According to Kyndryl and Bridgepath, the objective is to create GCC environments where AI plays an active role in how work is planned, executed, managed and improved over time.

Bridgepath Innovations chief executive officer, Ramaswamy Narayanan said AI is becoming a native component of GCC operations rather than an incremental addition.

"GCCs are shifting towards embedding AI directly into operating models where AI becomes native to how work is designed, delivered and governed, and not incremental," Narayanan said.

Focus on delivery, governance and execution

There is a growing trend among enterprises looking beyond AI experimentation and towards operating model transformation.

Kyndryl and Bridgepath said they will use a co-creation approach to develop AI solutions aligned with an organisation's existing systems, data environments and business objectives.

The companies said this allows AI to be deployed in ways that remain governed, adaptable and deeply connected to enterprise operations rather than operating as isolated technology projects.

The engagement will combine Kyndryl's experience in running critical enterprise environments with Bridgepath's GCC advisory and operating model expertise.

According to Chandralayam, the partnership brings together domain-led GCC consulting and AI-led operational capabilities to help enterprises create more adaptive and efficient delivery organisations.

For enterprises operating large global delivery organisations, the partnership points to a broader transition underway in the GCC market.

Historically, many GCCs were built around labour scale, cost efficiencies and process standardisation. Kyndryl and Bridgepath argue that future GCC models will differentiate themselves through AI-driven execution, decision intelligence and adaptive operating structures.

The companies believe organisations are looking for ways to combine domain expertise, technology platforms and AI capabilities to create operating models that can continuously evolve as business requirements change.
