L&T enters AI factory market with India’s largest Nvidia B300 infrastructure project

A 10,000-GPU deployment for Together AI will anchor the first phase of L&T’s broader push into AI factories, GPU-as-a-Service and AI-ready digital infrastructure.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured what it describes as India’s largest single-cluster NVIDIA B300 AI Factory, marking its move beyond traditional data centre infrastructure into large-scale platforms built to support AI training and inference workloads.

The engineering and infrastructure giant, through Vyoma.AI and its AI infrastructure subsidiary LTN Compute, has secured a strategic deployment for US-based AI cloud company Together AI.

The project will see 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs deployed at Vyoma’s Chennai data centre campus to support Together AI’s cloud platform for large-scale training, fine-tuning and inference workloads.

The deployment marks L&T’s entry into the AI Factory market as demand for GPU capacity and specialised infrastructure grows globally.

The Chennai deployment combines NVIDIA B300 GPUs with high-performance networking, parallel storage, ultra-low-latency interconnects and AI infrastructure operations.

According to L&T, the platform will allow customers to deploy and scale AI workloads through a unified infrastructure stack.

“Our deployment of an NVIDIA B300 AI Factory for Together AI marks a significant milestone in L&T’s Gigawatt AI Infrastructure Mission and reinforces our commitment to making India a global hub for next-generation AI infrastructure,” he added.

The AI Factory will support Together AI’s cloud platform, which serves enterprises, developers and AI companies running large-scale AI workloads.

The deployment also gives L&T a platform to support AI workloads from India for global customers.

Chennai campus to support future AI deployments

The AI Factory will be hosted at Vyoma’s Chennai data centre campus, which L&T describes as a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site.

Phase 1 of the facility will have a capacity of 250 MW, with power infrastructure readiness of 150 MVA, providing capacity for future expansion.

The scale of the site gives L&T room to add further AI Factory deployments as demand for GPU capacity grows.

The company is also positioning the campus as part of a broader infrastructure platform rather than a single customer deployment.

LTN Compute said it is building an ecosystem spanning hyperscale AI data centres, sovereign cloud platforms, AI Factory services, GPU-as-a-Service and managed AI platforms.

The strategy would allow L&T to address different requirements across governments, enterprises, cloud providers and AI companies as AI workloads become more compute-intensive.

For channel partners and infrastructure providers, the project shows how AI demand is creating opportunities beyond software and applications, extending into GPUs, networking, storage and specialised data centre infrastructure.

While traditional data centres remain the foundation of digital infrastructure, AI training and inference workloads require higher-density compute, high-performance networking and storage environments designed specifically for AI.

L&T’s move puts it into this emerging infrastructure market while giving the company a larger role in India’s growing AI compute ecosystem.
