M Group partners HCLTech for AI-led IT transformation across more than 200 locations
HCLTech will deploy its AI Force platform to modernise infrastructure and end-user operations, supporting digital transformation across M Group's water, energy, transport and public sector businesses.
M Group, an essential infrastructure services provider operating across the UK and Ireland, has selected HCLTech to modernise and transform IT operations across more than 200 locations as part of a broader digital transformation programme.
Under the engagement, HCLTech will deliver AI-led managed services spanning infrastructure and end-user operations and deploy its AI Force service transformation platform to streamline M Group's IT environment, improve resilience and build a scalable technology foundation for future growth.
The programme will support digital transformation initiatives across M Group's business lines, including water, energy, technology and communications, transport, defence, industrial and public sector services.
M Group chief technology officer Chloe Anfield said the company is investing in a stronger digital foundation to support operational efficiency and long-term growth.
"Technology is critical to helping our people deliver essential infrastructure services safely, efficiently and at scale," said Anfield.
"As we continue to transform M Group, we're investing in a stronger digital foundation and partnering with HCLTech to bring a new level of service for every team member in the field and in the office."
AI Force takes centre stage in transformation programme
A key component of the engagement is the deployment of HCLTech's AI Force platform, which the company is positioning as a service transformation offering designed to modernise IT operations through AI-led automation and operational intelligence.
According to HCLTech, the platform will help optimise service delivery, strengthen operational resilience and support technology modernisation across M Group's distributed environment.
The project represents the deployment of AI Force within a complex, multi-site infrastructure organisation where operational continuity and service reliability are critical requirements.
HCLTech chief growth officer and global head, Energy and Manufacturing Ajay Bahl said the engagement reflects the company's experience in managing large and operationally complex environments.
"M Group keeps critical infrastructure running for millions across the UK and Ireland. Being trusted to modernise the IT backbone behind that is a responsibility we take seriously," said Bahl.
"Our teams bring deep experience in complex, multi-site environments and we are committed to ensuring M Group's technology keeps pace with the demands of the sectors it serves."
The engagement also strengthens HCLTech's footprint in the essential infrastructure sector, where enterprises increasingly seek AI-led approaches to improve service delivery, operational visibility and technology performance across distributed operations.
The deal highlights how managed services engagements are centred on AI-enabled transformation rather than traditional infrastructure support alone. As organisations modernise operations across large and geographically dispersed environments, platforms that combine automation, AI and service management are becoming a larger part of enterprise transformation programmes.
