NI adds Aimil as distribution partner, expands LTTS collaboration to strengthen India ecosystem

The test and measurement company has added Aimil Ltd. as its new authorised distribution partner and expanded its collaboration with L&T Technology Services (LTTS) to strengthen its partner ecosystem and engineering capabilities in India.

National Instruments (NI) has appointed Aimil Ltd., an instrumentation company providing high-tech instruments, engineering services, and consultancy, as its new authorised distribution partner in India while expanding its collaboration with L&T Technology Services (LTTS).

This reinforces its partner-led strategy to extend test, measurement and data acquisition (DAQ) solutions across the country.

Announcing the partnerships at NI Days India 2026 in Bengaluru, Baskar Ceri, managing director, NI India and global business director for Aerospace, Defense and Government, said the company continues to rely on its ecosystem of partners to scale its business and technology adoption.

"We don't do anything on our own. We have a huge ecosystem of partners," Ceri said, adding that NI currently works with more than 40 partners across India.

As part of the expansion, Aimil Ltd. joins NI as an authorised distribution partner, extending the company's reach across North and East India.

According to Ceri, the partnership will help bring NI's test, measurement and DAQ portfolio to more customers while strengthening regional market coverage through an established distribution network.

NI also announced an expanded collaboration with L&T Technology Services, under which the two companies have established application engineering centres focused on automotive, aerospace and defence, and industrial manufacturing.

"We have a common goal of helping customers understand complex systems faster, and these labs are going to help build solutions for customers in India as well as outside India," Ceri said.

The engineering centres are expected to support solution development for customers across multiple industries while combining NI's test and measurement technologies with LTTS' engineering capabilities.

Expanding India's engineering talent ecosystem

Beyond its commercial partnerships, NI also used the event to outline initiatives aimed at expanding India's engineering talent ecosystem.

Ceri said India produces one of the world's largest engineering talent pools, but improving hands-on industry readiness remains a key challenge.

"The challenge for all of us is how we make the next generation of engineers really understand these technologies and gain hands-on experience in building systems," he said.

As part of that effort, NI announced the fourth edition of InnoVent, its engineering innovation programme, in collaboration with Tata Technologies and AWS.

According to Ceri, the previous edition reached 671 colleges across India, generated 5,338 engineering innovations over the past three years and engaged students. The programme provides students with access to NI's hardware and software platforms to develop AI-at-the-edge solutions for sectors including aerospace and defence, automotive and industrial manufacturing.

Ceri also highlighted the company's engineering community initiatives, describing India's LabVIEW User Group as one of NI's most active communities globally. He said the next community event will be held simultaneously across eight cities in August, supported by volunteers from across the country.

"Engineering today is no longer about knowing one software or working in a silo," Ceri said. "It is about bringing technologies together. That is what will enable engineers to build the systems of the future."
