OpenAI gets its Partner Director for India

Deepak Singh joins from Palo Alto Networks with experience across AWS, Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud, bringing a partner-led enterprise GTM background to OpenAI’s India business.

OpenAI has appointed Deepak Singh as Partner Director for India, with the executive taking on a role focused on building and scaling go-to-market partnerships as the company expands its enterprise and AI adoption efforts in the country.

Singh will focus on strengthening strategic partnerships, developing GTM initiatives and working with customers and partners to support AI adoption across India.

His appointment gives OpenAI an executive with experience across enterprise sales, cloud, AI, partnerships and partner-led GTM motions.

Singh joins OpenAI from Palo Alto Networks, where he served as Senior Director, Enterprise Business for India and SAARC.

He joined the cybersecurity company in August 2025 and led its enterprise business across customer segments, working with customers and partners around AI adoption and cybersecurity.

Singh brings particularly relevant partner experience from his three-year tenure at Amazon Web Services, where he was India Partner Leader for the Enterprise Segment.

At AWS, he built and scaled the partner sales function for the enterprise segment and worked with partners across a large enterprise account base spanning manufacturing, BFSI, media and entertainment, telecom, ITES, retail and global accounts.

His role included developing partner-led motions around cloud migration, modernisation and enterprise application adoption. He also worked with global systems integrators including Wipro, TCS, Deloitte, PwC, IBM and Cognizant on account-specific teaming plans and enterprise opportunities.

Before AWS, Singh had a short stint as Head of Channel and Alliances for India and SAARC at Alibaba Cloud, where he was responsible for the partner ecosystem covering services, ISVs, distribution and consulting.

The experience gives Singh a background across different parts of the cloud partner ecosystem, from distribution and services partners to large global systems integrators.

Google experience adds enterprise and GenAI exposure

Singh subsequently spent four years at Google as Head of Enterprises, Corporate Segment, India and SAARC.

At Google Cloud, he built the corporate enterprise segment from the ground up and managed customer relationships across more than 500 target accounts covering manufacturing, ITES, BFSI, retail, CPG and digital-native businesses.

He also worked with Google's specialist teams and partner ecosystem to develop sales strategies and go-to-market motions. His team worked with enterprises on data analytics and GenAI workloads at scale.

Singh also participated in Google's APAC hiring committee and represented Google Cloud at industry forums across India and SAARC.

His most recent role at Palo Alto Networks added cybersecurity to that enterprise and cloud background, with Singh leading a multi-million-dollar enterprise portfolio across India and SAARC and working with customers and partners on practical AI adoption and cybersecurity.

Singh said he is joining OpenAI to help build and scale GTM partnerships in India, marking a shift from leading enterprise businesses at Palo Alto Networks to a role specifically centred on partnerships at OpenAI.
