Persistent Systems appoints Gaurav Gour as head of ASEAN sales

The former FPT Asia Pacific executive will lead the company's sales strategy across Southeast Asia as enterprises accelerate AI and cloud adoption.

Persistent Systems has appointed Gaurav Gour as vice president and head of ASEAN sales as the company strengthens its enterprise business across Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, Gour joined Persistent to lead the company's sales strategy and customer engagement across the ASEAN region.

He joins Persistent from FPT Asia Pacific, where he served as vice president, business and solutions, APAC for nearly two years. Before that, he was part of the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) team covering Southeast Asia at Wipro.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Gour said ASEAN has reached an inflection point as enterprises and financial institutions accelerate investments in AI, cloud and digital transformation.

"The question is no longer whether to invest. It is how to make it work at scale," he said.

According to Gour, Persistent's engineering capabilities and focus on business outcomes position the company to help organisations scale AI and digital transformation initiatives across the region.

"The intersection of strategy and execution is where I have spent my career. ASEAN right now is where that intersection matters most," he said.

Persistent has maintained a presence in Southeast Asia for nearly two decades through its Singapore entity, Persistent Systems Pte. Ltd., which was incorporated in 2007. The company also operates two offices in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Expanding international operations

The appointment follows a broader phase of international expansion for Persistent. In March, the company opened a Melbourne Innovation Centre to support enterprise customers across Australia and New Zealand, citing growing demand for AI and cloud modernisation. The centre focuses on industries including banking, manufacturing and telecommunications.

In June, Persistent expanded its European delivery capabilities by integrating over 90 professionals from Estonia-based software engineering company Concise. The move also established delivery centres in Tallinn and Tartu to strengthen the company's nearshore delivery capabilities in Europe.

Gour brings enterprise sales and business leadership experience across Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. His experience includes working in BFSI sales across Southeast Asia at Wipro before taking on a wider APAC leadership role at FPT Asia Pacific.

Banking and financial services remain one of Persistent's key industry verticals globally.

Persistent employs over 26,500 people across 18 countries and reported trailing 12-month revenue of US$1.67 billion as of March 2026.

The company has continued to expand its AI capabilities through strategic partnerships, acquisitions and regional investments as enterprise demand for AI, cloud and digital transformation grows.

The appointment strengthens Persistent's sales leadership in ASEAN as the company looks to deepen customer engagement and expand its enterprise business across one of Asia-Pacific's fastest-growing technology markets.
