Redington’s Hariharan takes global distribution seat at GTDC

Move reinforces India‑based distribution leadership at a global industry forum.

Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC) has appointed V.S. Hariharan to its executive committee, adding senior leadership representation from one of the global technology distribution organisations.

The executive committee provides oversight for GTDC’s strategic direction and is responsible for guiding initiatives that strengthen the role of distribution in the global technology ecosystem.

It also works on advancing industry engagement through research programmes, regional executive events and member-led initiatives.

GTDC said the executive committee plays a central role in shaping the organisation’s long-term priorities and supporting its broader mandate to engage with the technology industry on the evolving role of distributors.

As part of the committee, Hariharan will work alongside other senior executives from member distributor organisations on initiatives focused on industry collaboration and engagement across the global distribution ecosystem.

GTDC noted that the appointment reflects Hariharan’s experience in leading distribution-led businesses across multiple markets and his long-standing engagement with global technology ecosystems.

Hariharan currently serves as managing director and Group CEO of Redington Group, where he oversees operations across 38 emerging markets and supports over 290 global IT and mobility brands.

In his role, he is responsible for leading Redington’s distribution and supply chain operations across a large and diverse set of geographies, covering enterprise, midmarket and partner ecosystems.

He brings over 27 years of experience across sales, marketing and operations, having held leadership roles across global and regional organisations in the technology industry.

Prior to Redington, Hariharan has worked in senior leadership roles at HP and Wipro Technologies, where he was involved in driving business growth across multiple technology segments and markets.

The GTDC executive committee comprises senior executives from member distributors and is responsible for guiding the organisation’s strategic direction for the global distribution industry.

It also oversees GTDC-led research initiatives, regional executive-level events and other industry engagement programmes that bring together distributors, vendors and ecosystem stakeholders.

Hariharan’s inclusion adds to GTDC’s leadership representation from major global distribution organisations, at a time when distributors continue to play a central role in connecting technology vendors with channel partners across markets.

The organisation said the executive committee will continue to focus on advancing strategic engagement within the distribution ecosystem, particularly through structured industry programmes and collaborative initiatives.

GTDC also highlighted that its leadership group helps guide long-term planning and supports its efforts to engage with evolving trends in the global technology distribution landscape.

With Hariharan joining the executive committee, GTDC strengthens its leadership bench at a time when distribution is increasingly positioned as a key enabler in global technology adoption and ecosystem-driven growth.

The appointment further reinforces GTDC’s focus on bringing senior industry leaders into its governance structure to support its mission of strengthening the global distribution ecosystem.
