SUSE appoints former Red Hat executive Marshal Correia to lead India and South Asia growth

Enterprise open-source software provider SUSE has appointed former Red Hat executive Marshal Correia as general manager for India and South Asia, as the company looks to expand its presence in a market increasingly focused on digital sovereignty, AI adoption and vendor-neutral technology platforms.

The appointment comes at a time when Indian enterprises are accelerating investments in sovereign technologies and AI-ready infrastructure.

According to SUSE's recent digital resiliency research, 62 percent of Indian enterprises are already investing in sovereign technologies, compared with a global average of 52 percent.

The company also noted that 90 percent of Indian organisations are prepared to increase AI budgets, creating demand for secure, transparent and open technology environments.

Correia will lead SUSE's operations across India and South Asia and will be responsible for driving regional growth, strengthening customer engagement, and expanding the company's footprint across enterprise and public-sector markets.

The executive brings nearly four decades of experience in the technology industry and is known for his leadership role at Red Hat, where he served as vice president and general manager for India and the SAARC region.

During his tenure, he helped drive market expansion and strengthen Red Hat's presence across the region as enterprises increasingly adopted open-source technologies and cloud-native platforms.

Before Red Hat, Correia held senior leadership positions at DXC Technology, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Compaq Computer and Digital Equipment Corporation.

His experience spans enterprise infrastructure, services-led growth, business transformation and technology adoption across India, Asia and global markets.

SUSE said the appointment forms part of its strategy to strengthen its leadership presence in high-growth markets and support organisations undergoing digital transformation.
