Tata Power taps Salesforce to digitally transform its clean energy business
Initiative to digitise partner and customer journeys, with plans to develop agentic AI workflows for contact centre operations
Tata Power has partnered with Salesforce to digitally transform its clean energy businesses, including rooftop solar, EV charging and smart home energy solutions.
As part of the initiative, Tata Power has deployed Agentforce Sales, Agentforce Service and Agentforce Marketing across its renewable energy subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL).
Tata Power has deployed Agentforce Sales and Agentforce Service to support its omnichannel engagement initiatives across renewable energy operations.
The Salesforce platform will act as a digital system for managing partner and customer interactions across businesses.
It will enable capabilities including lead management, inventory visibility, process automation and real-time performance tracking.
Tata Power’s CEO and MD, Praveer Sinha, said the company is focused on scaling rooftop solar deployment nationwide while expanding EV charging infrastructure and intelligent energy management solutions.
Leveraging Salesforce’s AI-powered platform, the company is transforming customer and partner journeys with transparency and agility, while strengthening operational excellence, Sinha added.
The companies said these capabilities are expected to improve operational transparency, enhance efficiency and provide consistent customer experience across multiple touchpoints.
Agentic intelligence layer built on top of Salesforce
In addition to the platform deployment, Tata Power has developed a proprietary deep learning and agentic intelligence layer built on top of Salesforce.
The capability enables a zero-touch quality and safety validation process designed to facilitate instant on-site verification and automated warranty generation.
Tata Power is using the system within its Solaroof offerings to support quality assurance and delivery standards as it scales rooftop solar deployments.
According to the company, its residential rooftop solar business has recorded significant growth in recent years. The segment has expanded by over 200 percent over the past two financial years, driven in part by policy support under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana.
Overall, the company’s solar portfolio has also grown, with revenues increasing fivefold between FY2020 and FY2025.
Tata Power said this reflects growing adoption of solar energy and expanding customer demand across residential and commercial segments.
The collaboration supports Tata Power’s clean energy roadmap aligned with India’s net-zero ambitions through an integrated ecosystem powered by artificial intelligence, automation and data-driven insights.
Salesforce’s South Asia president and CEO, Arundhati Bhattacharya, said, "The path to a sustainable future is being paved by visionary enterprises that are embedding intelligence, agility, and customer-centricity into the core of their operations. Tata Power’s digital-first approach to accelerating India’s green energy mission exemplifies how technology can be a powerful catalyst for national transformation.”
“At Salesforce, we are proud to partner with Tata Power in building a future-ready energy ecosystem—one that harnesses the power of data, AI, and automation to drive scalable impact, inclusive growth, and long-term climate resilience,” she added.
Looking ahead, the companies also plan to collaborate on developing agentic AI-led workflows to support customer and partner contact centre operations.
The initiative is expected to enable faster resolution, predictive engagement and proactive service across Tata Power’s renewable energy businesses.
