TCS becomes Elopak's strategic IT partner for AI-led global operations transformation

The company will deploy its Cognix platform and modernise IT operations, service management and enterprise applications across Elopak's global business.

Indian IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a multi-year agreement with packaging company Elopak to modernise its global IT operations using artificial intelligence, automation and cloud technologies.

Under the partnership, TCS will become Elopak's strategic IT partner and lead the transformation and management of the company's global IT environment through a process-centric operating model.

The objective is to align IT operations more closely with business priorities while improving agility, operational efficiency and user experience across the organisation.

Elopak is a global provider of paper-based packaging and filling equipment, operating in over 40 countries and serving customers across over 70 markets.

As part of the engagement, TCS will deploy its AI-powered service delivery platform, Cognix, to bring advanced analytics and automation capabilities to Elopak's IT operations.

The platform will help enterprises improve service delivery through AI-led insights, automation and operational intelligence.

The transformation programme will support Elopak's strategy to modernise its end-to-end IT services and create a scalable digital foundation for future growth.

Modernise IT operations

The scope of the programme includes establishing an integrated service desk and modernising key enterprise applications used across the business.

TCS said the initiative will help create a connected and responsive IT environment capable of supporting Elopak's global operations.

The company plans to leverage AI and cloud technologies to streamline IT management processes, improve service quality and enhance digital experiences for employees.

The partnership will help strengthen Elopak's ability to respond to changing business requirements while improving operational resilience.

According to Elopak, the IT transformation programme will play an important role in supporting the company's long-term growth ambitions and strategic priorities.

Elopak’s chief information officer, Merethe Johansen, said the partnership represents an important step in advancing the company's digital ambitions and strengthening its global operations.

She said the company aims to improve efficiency, enhance user experience and support its growth objectives by modernising its IT landscape and introducing AI-driven capabilities.

Support growth and sustainability goals

Elopak's broader business strategy focuses on expanding market share, strengthening its position in paper-based packaging and advancing sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing dependence on plastics.

The company believes a modern digital foundation will help support innovation, improve responsiveness to market demands and enhance customer engagement.

TCS said enterprises require technology environments that can continuously adapt to changing business conditions and support new digital initiatives.

TCS’ president - manufacturing, Anupam Singhal, said the partnership will help Elopak modernise its IT operations through AI, automation and cloud technologies while improving agility, operational efficiency and user experience across its global business.

He added that the transformation programme will support Elopak's growth strategy and sustainability ambitions as it continues to expand its packaging business worldwide.

TCS Norway country head, Amit Pethe, said the company will combine its AI-led capabilities and manufacturing expertise to help build a resilient and intelligent IT ecosystem for Elopak.

The deal also strengthens TCS' presence in the Nordic region, where the company continues to expand its customer base and delivery capabilities.

TCS has operations across Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland and continues to invest in local talent and long-term customer engagements across the region.

The Elopak engagement adds to TCS' growing portfolio of AI-led transformation programmes as enterprises look to modernise IT operations and improve business outcomes through automation, analytics and cloud-based services.
