TCS signs global premier partnership with Anthropic, builds Claude-led business unit for enterprise AI

The companies will jointly go to market with AI solutions and services across industries, including financial services, healthcare and public services.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with Anthropic to help enterprises scale AI adoption and move AI initiatives from pilot projects into production environments.

As part of the partnership, TCS will establish a dedicated business unit focused on Anthropic's Claude family of AI models. The unit will develop industry-specific offerings, build AI expertise and support enterprise deployments globally.

The companies will jointly go to market with AI solutions and services across industries including financial services, public services, healthcare, life sciences, aviation, telecom and medtech.

TCS has also committed to providing Claude access to 50,000 associates across engineering, finance, legal, marketing and sales functions through enterprise-wide licensing.

The move will allow TCS to use Claude internally while gaining practical experience that can be applied to customer transformation projects.

The partnership comes as many enterprises continue to evaluate AI use cases but face challenges in deploying them at scale, particularly in highly regulated sectors where governance, oversight, auditability and compliance requirements are critical.

According to TCS, the partnership aims to address these challenges by combining Anthropic's AI models with TCS' consulting, engineering and implementation capabilities.

TCS will also gain early access to Claude models, enabling it to develop industry solutions and strengthen its enterprise AI services portfolio.

Support enterprise AI deployments

TCS said organisations in regulated industries often struggle to move beyond AI experimentation because production deployments require higher levels of accuracy, transparency and operational control.

The company believes combining its governance frameworks, implementation expertise and managed services capabilities with Claude's AI capabilities will help enterprises deploy AI more confidently across critical business processes.

As a Global Premier Partner in Anthropic's Claude Partner Network, TCS will focus on bringing Claude to enterprises that require strong governance, resilience and integration with existing business systems.

The companies will jointly develop solutions for domain-specific workflows, application modernisation initiatives and customer experience transformation programmes.

TCS' consulting, engineering and managed services teams will support these offerings.

The partnership creates opportunities for customers looking to deploy AI across business functions while maintaining operational controls and compliance standards.

TCS’ CEO and MD, K Krithivasan, said enterprise AI value comes from combining business context, AI engineering capabilities and the ability to orchestrate complex enterprise systems.

He said the partnership will help customers accelerate production deployments, particularly in industries where trust, resilience and regulatory requirements play a critical role.

Expand Claude adoption across TCS businesses

The partnership will also extend across TCS products, platforms and business units.

Diligenta, TCS' UK-based life and pensions business, plans to use Claude to improve customer experience through agentic process transformation initiatives.

The business serves more than 22 million life and pensions customers and operates within a regulated environment.

In addition, TCS' banking, financial services and insurance products and platforms teams will use Claude Code to improve productivity across software engineering and IT operations.

The company expects AI-assisted development capabilities to help teams accelerate software delivery and improve operational efficiency.

TCS will also contribute domain expertise to the Claude Code ecosystem through reusable skills and plugins.

These capabilities will include use cases such as claims adjudication and lending advisory processes.

The initiative reflects a broader trend across enterprise technology organisations, where AI coding assistants are increasingly being deployed to support software development and operations teams.

Build AI skills through TCS iON

The partnership also includes a workforce development component.

TCS iON will introduce learning and certification programmes focused on Claude models to help develop AI skills across India.

TCS iON conducts over 75 million assessments annually across 1,500 cities and towns in India.

The company plans to use the platform to provide training and certification opportunities that help students and professionals build practical AI skills.

The initiative aligns with growing demand for AI talent as organisations expand investments in generative AI, automation and AI-powered business applications.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said the partnership strengthens the company's presence in India while expanding access to Claude for enterprises and professionals globally.

He described India as Anthropic's second-largest market and said the partnership will help bring Claude to enterprises across the region and beyond.

Tata Sons’ chairman, N Chandrasekaran, said AI is expected to become a foundational technology for enterprises and that the partnership will support enterprise transformation efforts while helping build AI skills for India's workforce.

The partnership represents one of the largest internal Claude deployments announced by an Indian IT services company and signals TCS' intention to expand its enterprise AI capabilities through deeper alignment with Anthropic's technology ecosystem.
