Tech Data appointed primary distributor of Equinix in India
This will enable partners to deliver AI-ready, hybrid multi-cloud and sustainable digital infrastructure.
Singapore-based Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company, has been appointed as the primary distributor of Equinix in India, expanding the companies’ strategic partnership.
As part of the collaboration, Tech Data will enable partners to access Equinix’s services and solutions, supporting hybrid multi-cloud and data-intensive workloads across the country.
The company will provide full lifecycle support, including market segmentation, solution mapping, sales and technical enablement, demand generation, and access to a broad ecosystem of cloud, infrastructure, and security vendors.
Through the partnership, partners can also leverage Equinix Fabric, a high-speed, software-defined interconnection service, for private, low-latency connectivity to global and local cloud service providers, major network providers, digital ecosystems, and business partners.
This combination of global infrastructure and local channel support helps partners build end-to-end solutions including hybrid multi-cloud connectivity, AI platforms, edge deployments, and sustainable digital infrastructure modernisation.
Tech Data India’s SVP and country general manager, Sundaresan Kanappan, said India is witnessing rapid growth in cloud adoption and digital services, driving the need for resilient, high-performance, and interconnected infrastructure.
As Equinix’s primary distributor in India, the company will bring these capabilities to market by combining Equinix’s global digital infrastructure footprint with Tech Data’s deep channel reach, technical expertise, and go-to-market enablement, said Kanappan.
He added that this partnership empowers partners to expand their solution portfolios, obtain new revenue streams, and deliver differentiated hybrid multi-cloud solutions to their customers across India.
The portfolio also includes Equinix’s data centre services, which offers resilient, secure, and customisable colocation solutions built to support AI-driven workloads while optimising power efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Equinix operates over 270 data centres across 77 metros worldwide, giving Indian enterprises and service providers global reach, operational consistency, and high interconnection density.
As per the announcement, the partnership allows customers to deploy once and scale globally, leveraging Equinix’s long-term commitment to 100 percent renewable energy coverage and science-based climate goals.
Equinix managing director, India, Manoj Paul, said Indian enterprises are increasingly adopting hybrid multi-cloud architectures with active plan for using AI to improve efficiency and provide enhanced services to customers, but these also bring greater complexity around connectivity and performance.
The partnership with Tech Data is designed to help businesses navigate these challenges by using Equinix’s global interconnection service portfolio which enables easy to use and cost-efficient access to cloud and network providers and digital ecosystems, said Paul.
The partnership will be formally showcased at a joint launch event on 25 February 2026, bringing together partners, customers, and industry leaders to explore new opportunities across AI, hybrid multi–cloud connectivity, and resilient digital infrastructure.
