Veeam Software has launched Veeam Intelligent ResOps, a new resilience operations solution designed to help enterprises improve visibility into AI-driven data changes and recovery operations, as part of the newly introduced Veeam DataAI Command Platform.

It aims to help organisations manage backup, recovery and data retention more intelligently as AI assistants and autonomous agents become more integrated into enterprise environments.

The platform connects data context, identity visibility and AI activity with recovery operations, enabling enterprises to identify what changed, understand what data is impacted and restore only affected workloads instead of relying on broad rollback processes.

Veeam said enterprises are increasingly ‘struggling to understand’ what data they have, what has changed across environments and which AI agents or users interacted with it. As AI systems operate at machine speed, small errors or malicious activity can spread rapidly across enterprise environments before teams detect the issue.

The company said Intelligent ResOps is designed to improve recovery precision and reduce operational disruption during incidents.

Built on DataAI command graph

The platform is built on the Veeam DataAI Command Graph, a unified intelligence layer that provides visibility into enterprise data, users, permissions, AI agents, activity and protection status across both production and backup environments.

This provides organisations with contextual visibility into what data is sensitive, regulated, business-critical or redundant, and helps teams understand what is protected versus exposed during incidents.

Veeam’s president of products and technology, Rehan Jalil, said enterprises are increasingly operating without clear visibility into their data and AI environments.

"Too many enterprises are flying blind without clear visibility into what data they have, what changed, and what's truly at risk. In this agentic AI era, resilience can't be reactive. Veeam Intelligent ResOps is the only solution that connects data, identity, and AI context with recovery actions across production and backup, powered by the DataAI Command Graph, so organisations can quickly pinpoint impact and restore only what they need — nothing more," he said.

Veeam Intelligent ResOps introduces multiple new capabilities focused on contextual resilience and AI-aware recovery operations.

This includes contextual intelligence to identify sensitive and regulated data alongside redundant, obsolete and trivial (ROT) data that increases storage and backup overhead. The platform also introduces data lifecycle intelligence capabilities to identify retention risks, policy gaps and inefficient backup footprints.

Another focus area is AI governance and visibility into AI agent activity. Veeam said Intelligent ResOps can monitor AI-driven actions and support rollback of unwanted changes through a feature called Agent Commander.

The platform also includes an integrated Intelligence Agent that allows teams to query operational and resilience insights using natural language prompts, designed to help accelerate investigations, reporting and operational decision-making around enterprise data and AI activity.

Microsoft 365 is the first supported workload

Microsoft 365 is the first supported workload for Intelligent ResOps, building on Veeam's existing scale of protecting 25 million Microsoft 365 users.

The platform initially supports SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Exchange environments, and is available as an add-on for Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, not as a standalone offering.

Through the integration, enterprises can gain visibility into sensitive and regulated data across production and backup environments while also tracking user and Microsoft Copilot activity.

Veeam said organisations can better understand what AI agents can access, expose or share within Microsoft 365 environments, and restore only impacted data instead of carrying out broad recovery operations. Additional workloads are expected to be added later this year.

The launch reflects a shift in enterprise resilience strategies as organisations increasingly look beyond traditional backup infrastructure towards AI-aware recovery, governance and operational visibility.

For channel partners, the move is likely to create opportunities around Microsoft 365 governance, backup modernisation, AI activity monitoring and resilience operations services.
