Wipro expands managed security portfolio with Palo Alto Networks

The expanded partnership combines Cortex XSIAM with Wipro's managed security services to deliver AI-powered threat detection and response.

Wipro has expanded its partnership with Palo Alto Networks to launch AI-powered managed detection and response (MDR) services, as enterprises look to modernise security operations and improve threat detection through AI and automation.

The new offering combines Palo Alto Networks' Cortex XSIAM platform with Wipro's CyberShield managed security services, enabling organisations to detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats across complex IT environments.

The companies said the service will help simplify security operations by using AI, machine learning and automation to improve threat detection, reduce response times and help security teams focus on high-priority incidents.

The expanded offering also aims to improve analyst productivity by filtering security alerts, reducing operational complexity and enabling faster response to emerging cyber threats.

The MDR service is supported by Wipro's WEGA and WINGS AI delivery platforms, which are part of the company's Wipro Intelligence suite.

According to Wipro, these platforms provide workflow orchestration, service transition and automation capabilities across security operations, helping enterprises manage security processes efficiently at scale.

The latest offering builds on the companies' existing partnership across cloud, network and security transformation, reflecting growing customer demand for integrated AI-led security operations.

Wipro’s global business head – cloud, infrastructure and security services, Satish Yadavalli, said organisations are looking for stronger governance and cost optimisation as AI adoption accelerates.

"Together with Palo Alto Networks, we are able to transform security operations through AI, automation, and platform consolidation, strengthening organizations' security environments while optimizing costs and improving outputs," Yadavalli said.

Palo Alto Networks’ senior vice president and chief partnership officer, Simone Gammeri, said AI-generated cyberattacks require AI-powered defence capabilities.

"Our combined capabilities empower mutual customers to consolidate tools, eliminate data silos, and leverage AI and automation to reduce noise, accelerate response from days to minutes, and ultimately stop even the most sophisticated threats," Gammeri said.

Delivered through cyber defense centers

The managed MDR services will be delivered through Wipro's eight cyber defense centers (CDCs), supported by the company's proprietary SOC GURU (Grand Unified Runbook Unleashed) framework.

The framework will help improve security operations through attack- and alert-agnostic analysis, enabling security teams to strengthen threat detection and response across enterprise environments.

Wipro said the approach has already been deployed for a European gaming and entertainment company, where it helped improve security operations by increasing productivity, accelerating incident response and reducing operational costs.

The latest expansion strengthens Wipro's managed security portfolio as enterprises consolidate security platforms and adopt AI-driven security operations to improve cyber resilience while managing growing threat volumes and operational complexity.
