Wipro has launched an Applied AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Claude models powered by Anthropic as it looks to strengthen its enterprise AI delivery capabilities and accelerate AI adoption among customers.

The CoE has been established at Wipro's Bengaluru innovation hub and will operate under the company's AI-Native Business & Platforms Unit.

As part of the initiative, Wipro plans to certify 10,000 front-line delivery experts on Claude models over the next 18 months. The programme will help build a workforce capable of designing, deploying and managing AI-enabled systems across complex enterprise environments.

The move comes as enterprises look to move AI projects beyond pilot stages and integrate AI into business operations at scale.

Wipro said the new CoE will strengthen its ability to deploy Claude models across enterprise environments and industry-specific use cases.

The company plans to integrate Claude across its Wipro Intelligence stack, including delivery, functional and industry platforms.

The objective is to embed AI into core business processes and workflows while helping customers achieve measurable business outcomes.

Rather than focusing on standalone AI deployments, Wipro is positioning the CoE around enterprise-scale adoption and operational integration.

The company said the initiative will help accelerate the development of AI-native platforms and solutions across industries including healthcare, manufacturing, airlines, consumer and mortgage services.

These industry-focused solutions will be developed and tested in collaboration with customers to support real-world business requirements.

Build specialised AI talent

A key part of the initiative is the expansion of Wipro's AI talent base. The company has been building a global pool of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) trained on Claude models and their enterprise applications.

These engineers work within client environments and combine business process knowledge, technology expertise and hands-on experience with AI models.

According to Wipro, the objective is to help customers integrate AI into existing workflows quickly and generate tangible business outcomes.

The company said the approach reflects its focus on practical AI implementation rather than experimental deployments.

The planned certification of 10,000 delivery professionals is expected to strengthen Wipro's ability to support enterprise AI projects at scale.

Support internal AI transformation

In addition to customer-facing initiatives, Wipro is also expanding the use of Claude models across its own operations.

The company plans to integrate AI capabilities into internal functions, including finance, human resources and sales.

By deploying AI internally, Wipro aims to improve operational efficiency while gaining experience that can be applied to customer engagements.

The company believes this approach will help accelerate adoption and improve the effectiveness of AI-led transformation programmes.

The launch of the CoE forms part of Wipro's broader strategy to operate as an AI-native enterprise and expand the role of AI across consulting, delivery and business operations.

Srini Pallia, chief executive officer and managing director of Wipro, said the CoE represents a shift in how the company delivers services and supports its strategy of being consulting-led and AI-powered.

He said the combination of Claude models, domain expertise and enterprise delivery capabilities will help drive measurable business outcomes for customers.

As demand for enterprise AI implementation continues to grow, Wipro is increasing investments in AI talent, delivery frameworks and industry-specific solutions. Through the new Claude-focused Centre of Excellence, the company aims to strengthen its ability to help organisations move from AI experimentation to enterprise-scale deployment.
