Zendesk hires Bikram Mazumdar as VP Asia to lead GTM and regional growth
Based in Singapore, he will oversee markets including India, Southeast Asia, North Asia and Korea.
Zendesk has appointed Bikram Mazumdar as vice president for Asia, tasking him with driving growth and go-to-market strategy across the region.
Based in Singapore, Mazumdar will oversee key markets including India, Southeast Asia, North Asia and Korea.
He will report to Mitch Young, senior vice president for APAC.
In this role, he will lead Zendesk’s regional expansion efforts, with a focus on scaling enterprise adoption of AI-powered customer service platforms and strengthening the company’s footprint across diverse Asian markets.
Mazumdar joins Zendesk with experience across customer and employee experience platforms, with prior leadership roles at Yellow.ai, Sprinklr, Oracle and IBM, where he worked on expanding enterprise business across APAC and EMEA.
Commenting on his appointment, Mazumdar, said, “I am incredibly excited to join Zendesk at a time when the business is leading the charge in AI-powered service. Zendesk’s ability to deliver immediate value through intelligent, empathetic, and seamless service systems is industry leading.”
“I look forward to building on our strong foundation in Asia, fostering deep-rooted trust with our partners, and helping our customers move the needle forward in their digital transformation journeys,” he added.
The appointment comes as enterprises in Asia accelerate adoption of AI in customer service, moving from pilot deployments to scaled implementations, with increasing focus on personalisation and automation.
Last month, Zendesk set up an innovation hub in Pune to drive global product development and advance its AI-powered service platform strategy.
The centre brings together product management, engineering, UX design and reliability teams, and takes end-to-end ownership of product roadmaps across the technology stack, from cloud infrastructure to application layer.
The hub is focused on advancing Zendesk’s Resolution Platform, including Agent and Admin Workspaces and its employee service offering, while strengthening India’s role as a global R&D base.
Positioned as a growth centre rather than a support function, the facility currently houses around 300 employees and is expected to expand further as the company scales AI-led product development.
