VMware partners on alert as Broadcom cuts its partner program
The program will be shut down from October 31, 2025 with a reduction in partners.
Broadcom will be shutting down its Broadcom Advantage Partner Program for VMware partners later this year.
On October 31, it will be reducing the number of authorized partners across the region.
The announcement, not made by either company, but one of its Australian partners, Interactive, highlighted that this move is to “align the VMware partner ecosystem with its strategic efforts and the needs of customers”.
There are five new changes coming to partners including a partner reduction, ending of the white label program, and shift towards hyperscale private compute.
According to a blog post from Interactive, the new program significantly reduces the number of authorized partners, being a by-invitation only program.
As a result, from July 15 VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) partners who are not invited to participate in the new Program for VCSP partners will be sent a notice of non-renewal.
Broadcom will be gutting its White Label model on October 31, with no further information provided about why that is happening.
There will also be a transition period until the same data where non-invited partners can continue to transact until then.
After that date, no new commitment contracts or renewals will be accepted for those partners.
Broadcom said it is reshaping its vision for private compute, by which VMware Cloud Foundations 9 underpins a small number are hyperscale private cloud platforms in each region.
“A future where customers buy managed infrastructure from partners like Interactive to support their compute requirements,” the blog post noted.
The post also said departing partners are “encouraged” to work with authorized VCSP partners to ensure a smooth transition for customers who seek to renew a service at the end of their current term.
Those impacted VMware and Broadcom partners are encouraged to review existing contracts and SLAs, engage directly with the companies or an authorized partner, and assess strategic priorities and align with partners.
Interactive is an authorized VCSP partner under the updated Broadcom Advantage Partner Program framework.
This comes a month after, the company announced it would be dumping registered resellers in the APAC region.
