Tech Data enhances StreamOne with commerce and security capabilities
The new platform capabilities come with comprehensive hyperscaler coverage and can unlock efficiencies and opportunities for partners of all sizes.
As businesses continue their digital growth plans into 2025, Tech Data is introducing several new customer centric capabilities for its global cloud platform StreamOne. A fully global platform, StreamOne is currently available across all regions. The service has already empowered over 30,000 partners to drive digital transformation.
The new features added by Tech Data, which is a TD SYNNEX company, include AI-powered tools and expanded security features, all of which are supported by Tech Data’s commitment to providing the enablement and programs necessary for partners to thrive in the evolving technology market.
Today, more customers are looking to have anything-as-a-service (XaaS) and Tech Data believes the innovations added to StreamOne will make it the ultimate destination for partners to be empowered as well as grow and scale in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
According to Anand Chakravarthy, Vice President, Advanced Solutions, Tech Data Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), StreamOne is more than just a marketplace as it is where all clouds meet.
“It is a complete platform that includes a marketplace function, and adds functionality to enable a seamless, end-to-end journey for any user, at any level. As the demand for scaling AI applications drives sustained growth in cloud demand across Asia, unifying and standardizing all vendor systems into a single, consistent format, enables us to increase efficiency and reduce complexity for partners, and ultimately empowers them to drive their growth through increased digitalization,” said Chakravarthy.
In a statement, Tech Data explained that the new platform capabilities come with comprehensive hyperscaler coverage and can unlock efficiencies and opportunities for partners of all sizes. This includes StreamOne commerce API that enables headless commerce, making it possible to add Tech Data products to partner-built marketplaces and extend ordering and full order management for customers.
Apart from that, StreamOne PSA Connectors will allow customers to easily connect platform data with Professional Services Automation (PSA) software. This capability provides differentiated functionality such as billing reconciliation. When it comes to integrating tools, StreamOne provides its users with the ability to integrate best-of-breed tools via its open API architecture, allowing them to scale and automate processes.
For infrastructure as a service (IaaS) consumption, StreamOne uniquely provides real-time synchronized reporting. This enables partners to manage costs as the bill is continuous throughout the month rather than waiting until month-end. The robust IaaS visibility enables unique FinOps capabilities, including detailed consumption reporting and advanced cost optimization tools.
Another key feature offered through the platform is the white-label storefronts which provide partners with a pre-built marketplace to extend the commerce and capabilities of StreamOne to customers. This can be done all under their own brand and without deployment or maintenance costs.
Additionally, StreamOne will be providing marketplace syndication which is expected to simplify procurement processes for hyperscaler catalogs. This feature will start with Microsoft Azure and AppSource SaaS solutions.
For cybersecurity, having a holistic view over solutions remains a key challenge for most organizations. As such, Tech Data will be piloting a Security Operations (SecOps) solution that will provide partners with a more comprehensive view of their SMB customers’ Azure security postures.
The SecOps functionality will provide an all-in-one view to detect potential threats, standardize deployment of security policies across customers, and recommend products to fill security gaps. While this is only available as a limited release to select partners currently, Tech Data mentioned that the full general availability of the SecOps solution is planned for 2025.
Among the customers that have already embraced StreamOne include Net Intellect. Andre Dowding, Managing Partner of Net Intellect mentioned that StreamOne checks every box as far as being easy to use for his team, increasing their ability to work efficiently.
“Specifically, being able to see accurate, real-time changes reflected through the new enhanced PSA integration has been tremendously helpful for our business,” said Dowding.
