Westcon-Comstor's Tech Xpert community expands to APAC

Weston-Comstor expands its Tech Xpert community program to Asia Pacific after reaching 3000 members following its launch in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in 2022.

Tech communities around the world continue to work together and exchange ideas to better improve the tech adoption and skillsets in their organizations. By working together with vendors and distributors, tech communities are able to address the pain points normally experienced especially when it comes to working with emerging technologies and addressing cybersecurity concerns.

Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and specialist distributor, launched its Tech Xpert community back in 2022 to connect technical professionals working in the channel. Members in Tech Xpert not only exchanged ideas but also engaged in peer-to-peer learning in a sales-free environment.

Since its launch across the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, Tech Xpert has reached the 3,000-member milestone. It has also brought cybersecurity and networking experts together in a tech-to-tech setting.

As part of the exclusive, opt-in community of technical professionals, members gain access to training, insights, events, networking and points-based participation rewards to drive a competitive advantage and increase adoption of the latest technologies.

Apart from sharing ideas and improving knowledge, the community also encourages best practice within the channel, ultimately helping partners deliver superior solutions to end-users.

Expansion into APAC

Tech Xpert’s success and growth in EMEA has led to the community program now being expanded into the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Technical professionals at Weston-Comstor partners in APAC will have access to the community. This includes tech professionals in Australia and New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and India.

According to Daniel Hurel, Senior Vice President for Westcon EMEA Cybersecurity and Next Generation Solutions at Weston-Comstor, Tech Xpert is the first tech-exclusive multi-vendor community for peer-sharing between partner, distributor and vendor. He added Tech Xpert represents something truly unique for the channel.

“Tech Xpert members gain exclusive access to our 3D Lab, which lets partners, and their customers test multi-vendor cybersecurity solutions and use cases in a secure cloud environment within 48 hours of request. This, coupled with the recent introduction of our interactive Tech ConneX platform, is driving strong Tech Xpert momentum and growth,” said Hurel.

Hurel is also expecting the momentum of Tech Xpert in EMEA to be replicated in the APAC region.

Meanwhile, Tech Xpert member, Humberto Gonzalez, a technical consultant at Axians Spain, mentioned that his participation in the Tech Xpert community has significantly enhance his technical expertise.

“The comprehensive support and access to peer-to-peer learning has not only expanded my personal capabilities but also given our company a competitive edge in the market,” added Gonzalez.

In July this year, Westcon-Comstor appointed Ang Wee Lee as the Country Manager for Singapore. The specialist distributor’s financial results for fiscal year 2024 saw its revenue increase by 8% to US$3.69 billion driven by increased demand for cloud and cybersecurity solutions globally.

Interestingly, Westcon-Comstor also experienced a 12.9% growth in the APAC region, its highest in increased revenue compared to the EMEA region.
