Google Cloud and BCG Launch AI Innovation Center in Indonesia
The AI Innovation Center aims to address the key challenges in Indonesia's AI adoption and empower enterprises to innovate at scale.
Google Cloud and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have launched an AI Innovation Center for Indonesia. The AI Innovation Center aims to address the key challenges in Indonesia's AI adoption and empower enterprises to innovate at scale.
With Indonesia continuing to lead the digital economy growth in the region, most businesses are now looking towards the next step in their digital journey. With AI, Indonesian businesses, both large and small, believe can deliver real value, from productivity boosts to revenue growths.
While the promise of AI is driving the adoption, there are several challenges that continue to hinder the deployment of the technology as well. This includes the lack of skills as well as resources needed to execute their AI strategies. Also, most enterprises also have to grapple with a variety of other factors, such as technical and organizational complexity, data readiness, and lock-in and legacy technology.
Having the right AI strategy when developing and deploying AI use cases is also essential to ensure businesses are making the right choices and not just simply joining the bandwagon. While Google Cloud continues to advocate and assist businesses in their AI journey, having a hands-on approach and access to real world use cases can make a difference.
As such, the AI Innovation Center aims to help public and private sector organizations reimagine processes, enhance productivity, deliver novel customer experiences, and generate new business opportunities with the power of AI. This includes providing enterprises with the expertise, technology, training and robust governance that organizations need to align GenAI implementations with their business goals, prioritize business use cases that AI can solve, launch in-production pilots / MVPs (minimum viable product), and navigate the change management process.
Through the partnership, businesses will also have access to an AI sandbox built on Google Cloud's unified AI stack consisting of high-performance AI-optimized infrastructure, its Vertex AI platform, foundation models, and low-code developer tools. With access to BCG's digital practitioners, architects, data scientists, and engineers, as well as Google Cloud's dedicated product and engineering talent, customers gain the support they need to move swiftly and successfully from AI experimentation to AI transformation and realize business value from AI.
According to Fanly Tanto, Google Cloud's Country Director for Indonesia, Google is deeply invested in Indonesia's digital future, and Google Cloud believes that AI is a critical enabler of innovation and economic growth.
“This AI Innovation Center, in collaboration with BCG, underscores our commitment to providing Indonesian businesses with the resources they need to succeed in the age of AI. We know that successful value delivery requires more than just algorithms and technology, highlighting the critical factor of people and process changes,” said Tanto.
Tanto also mentioned that by combining Google Cloud's cutting-edge AI platform with BCG's unparalleled industry expertise, both companies are confident that they can help Indonesian enterprises translate critical business priorities into effective strategy, design, and implementation programs that create competitive advantage.
For Davids Tjhin, Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG, partnering with organizations to adapt their operating models and drive meaningful business impact is essential to them.
“To enable a true, organization-wide AI transformation, technology, data, and operating models must work together seamlessly. Through our collaboration with Google Cloud on the AI Innovation Center for Indonesia, we aim to partner with organizations at various stages of AI maturity, supporting them towards tangible results. Together, we will accelerate innovation, build sustainable competitive advantages, and ultimately empower organizations to thrive,” said Tjhin.
