Malaysian Vision AI platform appoints channel partners in Indonesia

Tapway, an emerging Malaysian Vision AI platform developer, expands into Indonesia, appointing three channel partners to distribute its licenses.

Tapway Sdn. Bhd. has appointed three prominent Indonesian companies as its official channel partners in the country. The emerging vision AI platform developer appointed PT Innovation Cloud Services (ICS Compute), PT Metrodata Electronics, Tbk (Metrodata), and PT Syspex Multitech to distribute its SamurAI licenses, lead transformation efforts and provide long-term support for customers in Indonesia.

ICS Compute, Metrodata, and Syspex enhance Tapway’s presence in the region as it looks to support regional demand for vision AI. The independent software vendor is known for its SamurAI vision AI platform that was launched in 2024. The solution is offered through subscription packages to medium- and large-sized enterprises requiring automation to streamline compliance and work processes.

In addition to ready-to-use AI models, SamurAI lets users build and train their models to fit their specific needs and requirements, without any programming involved. Specifically, the platform offers off-the-shelf and customizable AI models, with no coding required, to support compliance, productivity, safety, and customer experience enhancement.

With the new channel partners in Indonesia, Tapway aims to enable localized distribution and deployment of its Vision AI solutions across Indonesia’s retail, manufacturing, logistics, FMCG, and smart infrastructure sectors.

According to Lim Chee How, CEO of Tapway, Indonesia represents one of Southeast Asia’s most promising markets for Vision AI.

“Our partnerships with ICS Compute, Metrodata, and Syspex are the result of two years of groundwork, mutual trust, and a shared vision to make AI adoption scalable and impactful. The MoUs are not just a formality, but they mark the start of real-world transformations across logistics, retail, and manufacturing landscapes in Indonesia,” said Lim.

Building a channel ecosystem

Taking a deeper look into the partnerships, ICS Compute will focus on deploying Vision AI in use cases that demand real-time automation and seamless system integration. This includes connecting AI-powered camera data directly into business systems, enabling real-time responses, faster decisions, and measurable improvements across operations.

“We see Vision AI as a way to make operations smarter, not just by seeing, but by acting. By connecting ground-level insights to real-time systems, we help businesses respond faster and work more efficiently,” commented Budhi Wibawa, CEO of ICS Compute.

Meanwhile, PT Metrodata Electronics, Tbk will spearhead Vision AI deployment across retail and manufacturing verticals through its extensive ICT networks.

Hariyo Nusantoro, General Manager, PT Metrodata Electronics, Tbk, said, “Tapway’s Vision AI solutions bring immense potential for Indonesian enterprises seeking visibility and automation. We're excited to collaborate in unlocking smarter digital transformation for our clients.”

PT Syspex Multitech, a key player in industrial packaging, logistics, and warehousing systems, will extend Tapway’s reach into safety and efficiency-focused factory environments.

Erwin Gunawan, Director, PT Syspex Multitech commented, “Tapway’s Vision AI isn’t just about building smarter systems — it’s about enabling safer, more compliant, and sustainable operations. This collaboration aligns perfectly with Syspex’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence. With our strong presence in Malaysia and Singapore too, we’re excited to explore and expand our partnership with Tapway across the region moving forward.”

For Tapway, the MoUs pave the way for go-to-market planning, pilot deployments, partner enablement, and eventual long-term agreements, with total sales projections estimated at around US$1 million over the next year.

Future expansion

Given that Tapway’s SamurAI Vision AI platform is currently deployed in over 2,000 locations across Southeast Asia, the ISV has an ambition to double that figure within two years. Currently, the company is actively scaling across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and now Indonesia, reinforcing its position as a regional Vision AI contender.

As Lim clearly emphasizes, “Vision AI is no longer a future concept. It's now a mission-critical technology.”

Lim added that Tapway remains committed to making Vision AI accessible, scalable, and locally relevant, delivering real-time visual insights that drive smarter operations, safer workplaces, and enhanced customer experiences.

“We're proud to be working hand-in-hand with trusted partners in Indonesia who understand the local business landscape and are ready to shape the future of automation,” Lim concluded.
