NTT DATA Payment Services unveils ADAPTIS
As a suite of integrated payment solutions that are designed to meet the evolving needs of modern business, ADAPTIS will be rolled out in Malaysia, with launches in Thailand and the Philippines on the horizon.
NTT DATA Payment Services has unveiled ADAPTIS, a suite of integrated payment solutions and more that is designed to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses. Available to businesses in Malaysia, ADAPTIS is built to be flexible, localized, and future-ready, helping businesses scale efficiently while providing customers with seamless payment experiences.
In 2024, NTT Data Japan acquired GHL Systems Berhad. Following the acquisition, the company was rebranded as NTT Data Payment Services. ADAPTIS is the product of this acquisition and rebranding exercise as the global IT services provider looks to grow its presence in the payments market in the region.
The ADAPTIS suite of services includes five key offerings designed to empower businesses with greater flexibility and efficiency. This includes seamless retail transactions, secure online payments, financing to support business growth, scalable payment infrastructure as well as value added services to optimize client business operations.
According to Sean Hesh, Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of NTT DATA Payment Services, ADAPTIS is all about adaptability and scalability for customers.
“The term ADAPTIS is about adaptability. We adapt to local cultures and to local modes of payment. Looking long term, this is a global brand that we will move forward with for our payments business, which includes both Japan as well as other markets in the region, perhaps even outside of this region. Adaptability is the key term when we talk about ADAPTIS and NTT Data Payment. The scalability is NTT Data. That's why we say ADAPTIS by NTT Data,” explained Hesh.
Hesh also pointed out that while ADAPTIS can adapt to local cultures, local payments, payment synchronization, and omni-channel payments, NTT Data provides the scale, and the power needed to go outside of Malaysia into the various countries and then expand further into other regions potentially.
“We had technologies present here in Malaysia previously, but we're using the best in class that NTT Data brings into the picture. As a leader in IT servicing, NTT does an awesome job when it comes to transaction security, making sure that omni-channel capabilities are available, and integrating our various platforms. That's the power of this brand. It's a great IT company that has gotten into the payments business and is now helping these local Malaysian entities to prosper and succeed, along with the clients that we have,” added Hesh.
Meanwhile, Shinichiro Nishikawa, Head of Global Payments and Services Division, NTT DATA Japan, emphasized the strategic importance of this evolution, stating that, “the future of payments is not just about transactions, it’s about ecosystems. By bringing together Asian payments industry leaders under the NTT DATA Payment Services umbrella, we are building a more connected, intelligent, and resilient regional commerce infrastructure. ADAPTIS reflects our commitment to seamless integration, localized solutions, and large-scale innovation that empowers businesses worldwide.”
Following its debut in Malaysia, the ADAPTIS suite will be rolling out in Thailand and the Philippines later this year, further strengthening NTT DATA Payment Services’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge payment solutions across the region.
When asked if ADAPTIS will be rolled out to other countries in the ASEAN region, Hesh mentioned that there have been discussions but are only “willing to look at opportunities as and when they come.”
