Confluent revamps APAC leadership
Kamal Brar transitions to Senior Vice President Global Partners and Technology Group while Greg Taylor joins as Senior Vice President and General Manager for APAC
Confluent has appointed Kamal Brar as Senior Vice President of Global Partners and Technology Group. In his new role, Brar will drive deeper partner collaboration, joint innovation, and expanded go-to-market reach throughout our global partner ecosystem, including cloud service providers (CSPs), system integrators (GSIs), independent software vendors (ISVs), managed service providers (MSPs) and the Confluent OEM program.
Brar had previously served as the sales leader across the Asia Pacific and Japan region (APAC). During his tenure, Brar had been influential in the growth of the Confluent business in the region, especially in building the partner ecosystem and helping customers in their AI transformation journey. He also helped accelerate the growth of emerging technology start-ups across the region and delivered exceptional value to customers leading digital transformation initiatives.
With over two decades of experience driving high-value partnerships and high-impact customer success across global markets, he has led and scaled teams at some of the world’s most disruptive technology companies, including Oracle, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, MySQL, MongoDB, Talend, Hortonworks, and Rubrik.
In his new role as the leader of global partnerships, he’s channeling that passion into building a strong, scalable ecosystem that fuels long-term growth and makes Confluent’s data streaming platform accessible to even more customers worldwide.
“Confluent partners are at the heart of how we help customers unlock the full potential of their data,” said Brar.
“As data streaming becomes the foundation for intelligent, real-time businesses, our partners play a critical role in scaling innovation globally. I’m thrilled to lead this next phase as we deepen our strategic alliances, accelerate co-innovation, and expand the reach of our platform so every organization can build and operate with trusted, real-time data,” he added.
With Brar moving to a global role, his APAC role will be taken over by Greg Taylor. Specifically, Taylor is appointed as the Senior Vice President and General Manager for APAC.
Bringing more than 25 years of experience driving revenue growth and cloud consumption across APAC, Taylor was previously at Databricks where he was responsible for scaling APAC business. He also recently served on the Board of WhiteSky Labs, acquired by Capgemini in 2020.
Taylor also held senior roles at New Relic, Marketo, Software AG, and Oracle; building high-performing teams and delivering sustained commercial success. His career demonstrates a consistent record of scaling technology businesses across the region.
“AI requires real-time, high fidelity data. Today, the demand for enterprises to compete at scale by underpinning their business with AI has never been more prevalent. Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform acts as the central nervous system for businesses, turning every action, transaction, and signal into instant intelligence,” said Taylor.
He added that one of the key factors that motivated him to join Confluent was the extraordinary opportunity in the region for organizations to scale faster, serve customers smarter, and unlock entirely new possibilities.
