Red Hat’s Garry Gray to lead Ecosystem Co-creation and Marketplace in APJ
Garry Gray was previously responsible for leading partners and alliances businesses as well as the associated partner ecosystem in the Australia and New Zealand region for Red Hat.
Red Hat has announced that Garry Gray is moving from Senior Director and Head of Ecosystem, ANZ role to the role of Senior Director, & Head of Ecosystem Co-creation & Marketplace, APJ at Red Hat.
Gray, who has been at Red Hat for the past seven years, was previously responsible for leading partners and alliances businesses as well as the associated partner ecosystem in the Australia and New Zealand region. Prior to joining Red Hat, Gray held many senior leadership roles in organizations including Xerox and AAPT.
With AI dominating tech conversations and investments in Asia, Gray believes that a faster time to value has never been as critical as it is now. Given the evolving Red Hat ecosystem across APJ and ANZ, he said that while these technologies promise great things, the biggest issue facing the tech industry today is the shortage of skilled workforce.
“As the skills shortages widen, organizations must find ways to get the most out of these promising technologies. This is where the vast potential of the partner ecosystem can be utilized,” said Gray.
For Red Hat, Gray mentioned that the partner ecosystem is the key to helping customers seize this new reality through co-creation. According to Gray, the concept of co-creation has been an important strategic focus for Red Hat, and a core tenant within its ecosystem strategy over the last few years.
“We are firmly focused on catalyzing co-creation within the Red Hat ecosystem, powered by open collaboration, our platforms and products, multi-partner solutions and to deliver better outcomes for customers and address market needs,” added Gray.
With Red Hat now focused on co-creation and marketplace in its partner ecosystem, Gray will lead this practice across the APJ region. In his new role, Gray will focus on fostering co-creation within Red Hat’s ecosystem to bring innovative solutions to customers, as well as accelerating marketplace business growth and scale.
“Marketplaces are no longer just transactional platforms. They offer opportunities for value addition, integration, and comprehensive service delivery,” said Gray.
Taking over Gray’s current role in ANZ will be John Nelson, who has also been with Red Hat for almost seven years and has become an important part of Red Hat’s ecosystem team.
