Sophos unveils managing director for ASEAN, Greater China, and Korea

Prior to joining Sophos, Malis Selamat was the head of corporate sales for Southeast Asia and country manager for the Philippines and Vietnam at Google.

Sophos has appointed Malis Selamat as managing director for ASEAN, Greater China, and Korea. An experienced leader in sales and partner ecosystems, Selamat will spearhead strategic growth initiatives and expand Sophos' market presence across these key regions in her new role.

The appointment of Selamat also comes at an interesting time for Sophos. The cybersecurity vendor recently acquired SecureWorks in February 2025. The acquisition brings together two pioneers that have redefined the cybersecurity industry with their innovative, native AI-optimized services, technologies and products.

As the largest pure-play Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider, Sophos now supports more than 28,000 organizations. A large number of these organizations are based in the Asia Pacific region, including markets that Selamat will look to enhance Sophos’s presence as well.

Prior to joining Sophos, Selamat was the head of corporate sales for Southeast Asia and country manager for the Philippines and Vietnam at Google, where she led go-to-market strategies and accelerated business growth in emerging markets. She also had roles that led sales organizations at VMware, McAfee, Citrix, and Qlik, driving enterprise and mid-market sales while expanding partner ecosystems.

With more than 25 years of experience in enterprise technology, sales leadership, and channel management, Selamat is well-positioned to enhance Sophos’ partner-driven approach and help organizations navigate today’s evolving cybersecurity threats. This includes leading the company’s corporate sales efforts, focusing on scaling enterprise adoption and deepening collaboration with partners to deliver best-in-class security solutions.

For Selamat, as cyber threats become more complex and widespread, organizations are seeking innovative solutions to stay ahead. As such, she is excited to join Sophos at such a pivotal time in the cybersecurity industry.

“I look forward to working with our team and partners to drive growth, foster collaboration, and deliver impactful security strategies that empower organizations to best defend their businesses from persistent threats,” said Selamat.

Gavin Struthers, senior vice president, APJ at Sophos, added, “Malis’ impressive track record of helping businesses strengthen their cybersecurity postures and driving digital transformation in the region makes her an invaluable addition to Sophos. Her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow our footprint and reinforce our market leadership across ASEAN, Greater China, and Korea.”
