Uma Thana Balasingam to headline WOTC Asia

Uma Thana Balasingam will be the keynote speaker at the Women of the Channel (WOTC) Leadership Summit Asia 2025. With nearly two decades of experience in the tech ecosystem in Southeast Asia, Uma is no surprise to the tech community in the region.
Having held senior leaderships roles in the channel in companies like VMware and EMC, Uma has led over 800 people across 48 markets, with responsibility of >$1B+ revenue. Uma currently is focused on building her 2nd career by launching companies and movements at the intersection of leadership, reinvention and media.
As headline speaker at WOTC Asia, Uma’s topic, “Dare to Disappoint - Breaking Free from Expectations & Owning Your Power,” will focus on how women can choose to rewrite their roles. Uma will share her personal journey of breaking barriers, navigating shame, and embracing leadership with radical authenticity.
Uma is also the visionary founder of Lean In Singapore, which has built a community of over 7000 since 2016, and is dedicated to inspiring and educating thousands on gender equality in the workplace, including empowering girls to redefine what leadership looks like. This helps girls see themselves as leaders in a world that often tells them they’re not.
She’s an internationally recognized advocate for gender equity, featured in prestigious lists such as CRN’s Most Powerful Global Women, Singapore’s Top 100 Women in Tech, LinkedIn’s Top Voice, LinkedIn Top 10 Voice in Gender Equity, #1 in Sales, and #12 in Singapore for Favikon Top Creators for LinkedIn.
