Fortinet launches new regional PoP to strengthen cybersecurity across ASEAN
The new Singapore Point-of-Presence (PoP) brings Fortinet’s cloud security closer to customers, supporting data residency, compliance, and scalable cloud security services.
To support the growing complexities in cybersecurity as businesses in Southeast Asia increasingly embrace cloud technologies, Fortinet has launched its new regional Point-of-Presence (PoP) in Singapore for Lacework FortiCNAPP, Fortinet’s Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform. This investment brings advanced cloud security services closer to customers to help them meet data residency needs, navigate regulatory requirements, and accelerate their digital transformation.
With increasing cyberthreats in the region as well as the challenges in managing multu-cloud and hybrid environments, Fortinet’s new FortiCNAPP PoP in Singapore addresses these challenges by providing localized security services that help organizations better protect their cloud-native applications while maintaining control over sensitive data.
Taking a deeper look at the Singapore PoP, it complements Fortinet’s existing infrastructure in the region and marks Fortinet’s second FortiCNAPP deployment in Asia-Pacific, following its PoP in Australia. Fortinet currently also has existing Points of Presence in North America, Europe, and Australia, with the Singapore PoP enhancing the cybersecurity vendor’s ability to deliver security that is closer to businesses in the region.
Specifically, Lacework FortiCNAPP empowers organizations to secure their applications, infrastructure, and workloads across any cloud: public, private, or hybrid. Delivered as a service, its AI-powered engine combines advanced threat detection, vulnerability management, compliance insights, and behavioral analytics into one unified solution. From development through runtime, FortiCNAPP simplifies protection across the entire application lifecycle, helping teams stay secure, compliant, and ahead of threats at scale.
Both Fortinet partners and customers in the region will unlock new advantages with the launch. This includes having access to enhanced data residency capabilities as businesses will be able to keep data within the region to meet national and industry-specific regulatory requirements. Customers will also experience lower latency and faster access to cloud security services, delivering a smoother user experience and greater operational efficiency. They will also be able to stay ahead of evolving security regulations while accelerating cloud adoption with confidence.
For Fortinet’s partner ecosystem, the new PoP will empower partners to deliver localized, value-added cloud security services that fuel our customers’ digital transformation.
According to Vishak Raman, Vice President of Sales, India, SAARC, Southeast Asia & ANZ at Fortinet, the investment in Singapore reflects the vendor’s ongoing commitment to supporting the region’s digital growth.
“As ASEAN and South Asia accelerate cloud adoption, we are bringing security closer to where our customers operate, helping them meet local compliance needs, strengthen cyber resilience, and unlock new opportunities with the confidence that their cloud environments are protected by AI-driven, scalable security solutions,” said Raman.
For Kevin Wong, Country Manager at Fortinet Malaysia, organizations are navigating increasingly complex cloud environments while facing mounting security and compliance challenges, be it in Malaysia or across the ASEAN region.
“Our new FortiCNAPP PoP in Singapore addresses these needs by delivering advanced protection, real-time visibility, and scalability, helping customers secure their applications and data while enabling our partners to offer enhanced, localized cloud security services that support digital transformation and business agility,” said Wong.
Last week, Fortinet also announced that its Fabric-Ready Technology Alliance Partner Program has surpassed 3,000 integrations across more than 400 technology partners. This milestone reinforces the openness and collaborative power of the Fortinet Security Fabric, enabling customers to seamlessly integrate security across complex, multivendor environments while addressing the challenges of digital transformation.
Since its inception in 2015, the Fabric-Ready Partner Program has grown its membership by 36x to include more than 400 technology partners, reflecting Fortinet’s commitment to fostering innovation and interoperability. The Fabric-Ready Program provides program infrastructure, resources, and tools for alliance partners to integrate with the Security Fabric, develop joint solutions, and become part of the Fortinet Open Ecosystem. Recent additions, such as Armis, CrowdStrike, Digital Realty, Equinix, Megaport, Qualcomm, and ServiceNow, bring specialized expertise in endpoint security, OT, IT service management, cloud connectivity, and wireless solutions, among others.
