Proofpoint eyes big opportunities in Asia with partners

Stan de Boisset, global channel lead at Proofpoint, shared that Proofpoint will be looking at updating its partner program which he hopes will “completely change the opportunity for partners.”

Proofpoint recently celebrated its partners at the 2025 Global Partner Awards during the cybersecurity vendor’s Proofpoint Protect 2025 event in Nashville, US. The annual awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Proofpoint’s strategic partners who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to helping organizations around the world defend against evolving cyberthreats.

Ingram Micro won the Global Distributor Partner of the Year while Orange Cyberdefense was selected as Global Solution Partner of the Year. Regionally, Japan’s TechMatrix Corporation was Regional Partner of the Year for APJ while India’s CyberPWN was awarded the New Partners of the Year award.

According to Stan de Boisset, global channel lead at Proofpoint, these partners truly embody the spirit of collaboration and customer-centricity in addressing the most pressing cybersecurity challenges facing organizations of all sizes.

In a conversation with CRN Asia prior to the event in Nashville, de Boisset shared that Proofpoint will also looking at updating its partner program which he hopes will completely change the opportunity for partners, enabling them to be more successful at what they do.

“We have a panel advisory council in October, and we’ll really fine tune the details with our top partners in the world. We want to make sure the partners have a voice. We really want to come with them and say, that's what we're going to do and if it matches with them. What else do they want to do? So, we can work in collaboration with them. And our intent is, as we start the new year, we come up with all the changes that we do,” said de Boisset.

Opportunities in Asia

As Proofpoint currently secures 80% of the Fortune 500 companies globally when it comes to email security, they are now looking at the big opportunity in data security. For de Boisset, the Asian region is somewhere where he believes has the strongest opportunity.

“It's 30% of revenue right now, but it's a big opportunity. And we see partners who play an even bigger role in data security. All DLP, DSPMs are the big technology that would be the buzzwords for partners. We’re going to do a lot of investments with our partners to really empower them with this kind of knowledge,” explained de Boisset.

Boisset highlighted that in his conversations with partners in Asia, they are excited and optimistic about the opportunities with Proofpoint, especially since the vendor continues to invest in them and in the region as well.

“What's exciting is we're playing into the top tier customers because we have really a solution which is end-to-end around cybersecurity. We have a really nice strategy that really surrounds the users. We call it human-centric cybersecurity and partners want to play there,” he added.

As partners are also more focused on providing a platformized cybersecurity solution for customers, they want a vendor who can understand the end-to-end behavior and threats, analytics, and protect the users, which is where de Boisset believes Proofpoint has a really good spot in.

“The customers want a partner that goes a long run with them, who doesn't solve a point product. They can really be with them to solve the biggest challenges. So, if you don't have a player that can really tell them what is really important and how to work with this, it's a real challenge. So many of our customers, that's what they tell us. They say, we want a player who can really help us focus on our strategic projects, protect us to do what we were supposed to do.”

“And I think that's where we play very nicely. We protect them from all entry points of the network and protect the humans, which are the weakest points and yet the biggest assets of the company. So, you're going to see Proofpoint playing with all the big companies. At the same time, we're also offering all our services, all our great solutions to a lower tier of the industry. So that's pretty exciting,” he concluded.
