Accenture and Oracle AI partnership in APAC explained
“We're not just focused on what's the application or what's the technology. We're focused on bringing an industry solution. For me, that’s the secret sauce of what Accenture and Oracle can do together,” Bellenguez added.
When it comes to deploying AI for the right use cases, Accenture and Oracle have a very unique partnership in working with their customers in Asia Pacific. While Accenture works with several other vendors as well when it comes to AI, it’s relationship with Oracle goes over three decades.
In an interview with CRN Asia, Laurence Bellenguez, APAC and SEA lead, Accenture Oracle Business Group said the relationship between the two companies is now focused on scaling the adoption of AI after years of working together on some of the largest clients’ transformations, especially in enabling them to turn technology solutions into business outcomes.
“We're very proud to be Oracle’s number one partner working with them and I'm really proud that it gets end-to-end. We start from product innovation to development to ultimately delivery. We're really making an impact on our clients, which is really about being able to establish the foundation with cloud and data, which then enables us to scale AI which is really important for our clients in today's age of AI. We have worked with Oracle to build solutions in an ever-changing environment, whether that is new industry solutions in life sciences, banking or education. Some of these are really focus areas for us, especially in APAC, as well as with AI solutions. Last year, we announced a partnership and a collaboration with Oracle to help our clients take advantage of Oracle's GenAI capabilities, not just focusing on different industries, but also functions,” Bellenguez said.
Bellenguez added that Accenture is also focused on enabling the finance transformation with a set of AI solutions and making sure that from an industry perspective to drive efficiency in how they deliver.
“AI is really embedded in the work we do with Oracle, right from thinking about the solutions, to how we engage with our clients to enable their scaling and the delivery. So, it's a partnership that I would say we're very proud of and has really evolved over time,” she said.
At Oracle AI World 2025 in Las Vegas, Accenture received the SCM Breakthrough Award for its success in the APAC region.
The AI journey with Oracle and Accenture in APAC
Looking at the partnership between Accenture and Oracle in the APAC region, Bellenguez pointed out that the APAC market is a market that varies in business maturity, business culture, regulations and cloud enablement. As such, unique approaches are needed for each one of the market units that comprises APAC. Some of the key industries that Accenture is focused on are utilities, HNPS, retail, financial services, and manufacturing.
“When we think about AI in those industries, which cuts across supply chains in retail and manufacturing, our clients are really looking to build resiliency from a commercial perspective and from a supply chain perspective. We’ve got an AI refinery platform that helps with that, and then we've been working with Oracle for quite a while on some other solutions that help with supply chain optimization, and that was one of the key use cases we actually worked on with them. For example, in healthcare, hospitals are looking at how they optimize their procurement, how they optimize, the supply chain, and they're also looking at how they improve the customer experience,” Bellenguez explained.
She added that Accenture works very closely with Accenture on these supply chain use cases.
“Our clients are absolutely aware and very keen to take advantage of Oracle's core capabilities with Oracle AI Agent Studio and the capabilities in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Our clients know those capabilities are there. The question is, how do they take advantage of those capabilities? And so, it's working with them to understand the journey to how they're going to be able to take advantage of those, and what their maturity and ability to adopt at the time of implementation. It also helping them think about that continuous innovation post the initial implementation and really helping them to make sure that they're also not just looking at it from a technology solution perspective, but a way of working and a business reinvention, so that they can take advantage of that, Bellenguez added.
Echoing Bellenguez’s views is Eng Koon Goh, Vice President and General Manager, Alliance and Channels for ASEAN at Oracle. According to Goh, many customers need to be educated about what is AI and what are the possibilities of AI. This is where Oracle launched an AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) in Singapore earlier this year to help customers understand better.
“There are three parts to the AI CoE. The partnership that we have with Accenture allows us to progress a customer with an AI interest across all three parts. The first part is how to learn about AI capabilities from Accenture and Oracle. And then they can go to the playground where with the guidance from Oracle and Accenture, we can get them to use cases that make sense to them. Effectively, AI has to increase efficiency, productivity, and also improve the return on investment of the technology they buy. So, the play area will allow them to explore what is the best bang for the buck for them to engage in an AI project. And once they're convinced, then we go to the transformation part, where a credible SI like Accenture can then bring the customer on board a full-fledged AI project that will show off the right ROI,” Goh explained.
In that sense, Goh believes that through the AI CoE and partnership, they’re able to provide customers with a better journey along the way to having a better ROI AI project.
The partner ecosystem
Given that Accenture works with several other tech vendors as well, Bellenguez said the focus is really on how they bring the best to solve customer challenges.
“What Oracle has done as an ecosystem partner is in driving the ability to have a multi-cloud and to be able to take advantage of higher performance, of innovation with Oracle's OCI, their flexible deployment, which enables us to bring together Oracle and AWS, Oracle and Google, Oracle and Microsoft. It has further elevated the partnership because it’s now an ‘Oracle Plus’ others. They have made it easier and to me, that has expanded the partnership because it's expanded the partners that we can bring to solve our clients,” Bellenguez said.
At the end of the day, what Bellenguez fundamentally believes is what differentiates Accenture’s focus with Oracle is the focus on an industry solution.
“We're not just focused on what's the application or what's the technology. We're focused on bringing an industry solution. For me, that’s the secret sauce of what Accenture and Oracle can do together,” Bellenguez added.
“We can bring an industry solution. And that solution is comprehensive of Oracle Plus other ecosystems. And that, to me, is the secret sauce right now of this partnership,” she concluded.
