Fastly empowers partners with new certification program
“As AI-driven threats accelerate, this training strengthens partner expertise and gives customers greater choice and flexibility when choosing Fastly-certified providers,” says Nicola Gerber, Vice President for Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) at Fastly.
Fastly recently launched a new partner certification program to enhance partner capabilities in providing better security services to customers. The Fastly Certifies Services Partner Program is designed to provide technical security professionals at partner organizations with comprehensive training and certification to implement and manage Fastly’s advanced security solutions.
With increasing cyberthreats globally, there is a greater demand from customers not only for trusted security expertise but also streamlined solutions. This demand is making certification a critical differentiator in building trust, credibility, and upskilling security professionals to meet new challenges driven by AI-driven threats.
As such, Fastly’s new self-guided certification program equips partners with deeper, broader security expertise while also giving them the flexibility to earn their certification at their convenience. Partners who complete the program will have access to a suite of resources, including early insights into the company’s innovation roadmap, exclusive invitations to technical labs and webinars, and unlimited access to future educational content.
According to Jeff Alpen, Vice President of Global Partnerships at Fastly, equipping Fastly partners with advanced training and certification in their security solutions enables them to expand their service portfolios, create new revenue streams, and deliver greater value to their clients, while also providing customers with greater choice and flexibility in how they implement and manage their security infrastructure.
“The Fastly Certified Services Partner Program is a pivotal step in strengthening our global channel ecosystem and delivering superior value to both our customers and partners,” said Alpen.
Looking at the certification program’s impact on partners in the APAC region, Nicola Gerber, Vice President for Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) at Fastly said the certification equips partners with deeper expertise to better advise and protect local businesses.
“Asia’s fast-growing digital economy—spanning e-commerce, gaming, streaming, and fintech—faces increasingly sophisticated threat patterns. As AI-driven threats accelerate, this training strengthens partner expertise and gives customers greater choice and flexibility when choosing Fastly-certified providers,” said Gerber.
Gerber also pointed out that the certification also helps partners build trust and credibility with customers by validating their capabilities with Fastly technologies.
“Beyond this, it enables our partners to expand their service portfolio and unlock new revenue streams—for example, by offering deployment and security solution services in addition to resale. Certified partners will also gain access to Fastly’s innovation and technical resources, including early visibility into our roadmap and ongoing educational content as it’s developed,” she added.
Taking a deeper look at the certification program, it provides partners with opportunities to add value by delivering certified implementation services. For customers, this program offers greater flexibility and choice: they can now choose to have their Fastly security solutions implemented either by Fastly's own professional services team or by a certified local partner.
Upon successful completion of the training, partner organizations will earn the designation of “Fastly Certified Services Partner,” and individual participants will become a “Fastly Certified Professional for Security Implementation.” This security track is part of Fastly’s ongoing certification program, underscoring its commitment to continuously enhancing partners’ go-to-market success through continuing enablement of resources.
“Certified partners make Fastly more local in capability, strengthening how we support customers across the region. In 2026, we’re committed to continuing to deliver the full Fastly experience to local markets—by listening closely, and by building programs and offerings that make partnering with Fastly even more valuable. There’s more to come, and we’re excited for what’s ahead,” said Gerber.
