NCS continues to build on its partnership with AWS
NCS is an AWS Advanced Tier Partner, and a leading technology services firm headquartered in Singapore with presence in Asia Pacific.
As a leading tech partner in the Asia Pacific region, NCS partners with major tech vendors from around the world to help businesses in their digital journey. With GenAI being the main focus for most enterprises and even government sectors in the region, NCS has been working with AWS to accelerate the development and deployment of these innovative use cases.
With a 13,000 strong team across 58 specializations, the Singapore-headquartered company provides technological services with a focus on high growth markets that include Singapore, Australia and greater China.
NCS is an Advanced Tier partner with AWS and is also a certified Amazon Connect Service Delivery Partner as well as a launch partner of the AWS Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance. NCS has also recently been awarded AWS’ APJ Public Sector Consulting Partner of the Year – a testament to the strength of the ongoing partnership.
To understand more about their partnership with AWS, CRN Asia caught up with Wynthia Goh, Senior Partner, Global Co-lead, NEXT at NCS. Goh leads the NCS NEXT business globally, driving the growth of NCS’s capabilities, offerings, and services in digital, AI, and cloud-based technologies to help clients transform their businesses.
Can you tell us a bit about NCS’s partner ecosystem?
NCS has quite an extensive partner ecosystem. We work with all of the leading partners, given the focus of NEXT, digital data, AI and cloud. AWS is certainly a very important partner in that equation. We also work with all of the hyperscalers in Singapore, like Azure and Google Cloud.
Outside of Singapore, we work with vendors that are dominant there. For example, in our Greater China region, we work with dominant cloud service providers like Alibaba, Tencent Cloud and so on.
So how does NCS help customers in their digital and AI journey?
We are capable of providing end-to-end services. If you look at the work that we do with clients here, for example in the area of AI, right from the beginning, we work out with the customer on their AI strategy, developing that roadmap of opportunity from AI use cases, to being able to co-innovate with them and help them validate the use cases.
We also help them determine what is the right way to execute a concept or solution, to scaling out to production. We can also manage it as a managed service, which is something we do.
Can you tell us a bit more about your partnership with AWS?
When we look at partnering, we are really looking at whether we are able to partner at multiple levels, and then to have a multifaceted relationship that translates to not just doing one thing, but to do a lot of things and do them well and in an integrated manner.
With AWS, we are an advanced tier partner, and we've had a long history of working with them across multiple sectors. At NCS, we have a large number of certified AWS engineers and architects that are fully enabled and aware of the latest AWS innovation.
So whenever AWS launches new services, we have organized for AWS experts from the US to come to Singapore to specifically train our AWS engineers. That's how close the working relationship is, which I think translates into something that's good for all of our clients.
Apart from GenAI, we've certainly worked with AWS very closely in a lot of major and complex cloud migration, which has been an earlier phase of a lot of organizations' transformation journey. Beyond that cloud migration, we have further moved on to looking at application modernization, and then most recently, the focus on Gen AI.
In the area of architecture, our AWS architects are trained in a well-architected framework of AWS, which then translates to an ability to help our clients make the very best use of our AWS services. In the area of cloud services, new services and innovation continue to be rolled out, and so it's also not a static relationship or a static capability.
That commitment with AWS and NCS to continue this journey and to continue to build on new capabilities and bring new innovations from other parts of the world to Singapore, and to APAC, is a very big part of what makes this work for us.
