NCS launches AI Mission Center

NCS also announced three strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with key industry partners, Changi Airport Group (CAG), the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), and Life3 Biotech to jointly develop and scale innovative AI-driven solutions.

NCS has launched the NCS AI Mission Centre, a dedicated innovation and execution hub to help public and private organizations move from AI experimentation to full-scale enterprise deployment.

According to Sam Liew, NCS CEO, the aim is to see Singapore as a place where the world comes to see AI working at scale, especially in strengthening industries, improving public services, and opening new possibilities for the people.

“The NCS AI Mission Centre is our commitment to that ambition,” he said.

The AI Mission Centre will help clients define priority problems, redesign workflows, and test and deploy AI solutions securely in live operations. It will also turn successful deployments into reusable products and capabilities, enabling proven solutions to scale across organizations and markets.

NCS also announced three strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with key industry partners, Changi Airport Group (CAG), the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), and Life3 Biotech to jointly develop and scale innovative AI-driven solutions.

Taking a deeper look at the MOUs, NCS will work with CAG to enhance and scale iFerret, a co-developed intelligent runway surveillance system that monitors for Foreign Object Debris (FOD), with advanced AI technologies. The unique co-innovation model allows operational requirements to be developed and tested in real-world airport environments before global deployment.

The partnership with IMH combines the institute’s clinical expertise and NCS' technology capabilities to explore and co-develop digital solutions that enhance patient care and support healthcare workers in care delivery. The initiatives include Bio-ID, an AI-powered facial recognition solution to strengthen patient identification and support timely awareness of safety considerations in inpatient care settings.

With Life3 Biotech, the partnership will focus to co-develop AI-driven biomanufacturing optimization capabilities, integrating AI and advanced bioprocessing technologies. This includes enhance production efficiency, scalability, and sustainability of micro-organisms while laying the foundation for next-generation intelligent biomanufacturing infrastructure.

Developing a skilled workforce

The AI technology services company also commits to develop a workforce or more than 300 Intelligentisation Forward-Deployed Engineers (iFDEs) within the next two years. These engineers comprise reskilled internal talent and new hires.

According to NCS, iFDEs are domain-expert, vendor-agnostic AI specialists embedded directly within client teams to deliver real-world deployment across key sectors. NCS continues to see a strong demand for AI in the country and sees iFDEs as the best way to help organizations achieve their AI goals.

“By growing our current team of 100 iFDEs to more than 300, we are investing in our greatest asset - our people - who can turn technological breakthroughs into everyday progress. Our goal is to build AI capabilities that serve Singapore, and solutions that can make an impact around the world,” Liew said.

NCS is strengthening its AI workforce through company-wide upskilling, job redesign and early-career development. All NCS employees receive AI fluency training covering areas such as prompt engineering, responsible AI and collaboration with AI agents, while more than 2,000 AI practitioners are being equipped with advanced skills to build and deploy production-ready agentic solutions.

NCS is also redesigning software engineering roles to combine business analysis, development and testing within more versatile AI-enabled teams, while its Nucleus, Fusion and Ignite work-study programs provide university, polytechnic and ITE graduates with bond-free pathways to develop practical AI skills from the start of their careers.
