Following the launch of Sunshine.AI in 2025, NCS has now expanded the capabilities to include sovereign, enterprise-grade AI platforms and products, formed new sector-specific partnerships, and committed to training next-generation AI talent. Unveiled at NCS Impact 2026, the updates will enable organizations to move from AI experimentation to enterprise-scale transformation with the speed, security, and governance they need.

According to Sam Liew, NCS CEO, the company redesigned its core operations to focus more on exponential outcomes. With the focus now on becoming an AI-led tech services company, he believes that NCS can provide organizations with the right partners needed as it combines deep combines deep industry expertise with enterprise-grade, sovereign platforms built for real-world governance and security, with a strong ecosystem supporting them.

“As an AI-led tech services company, this is exactly what we have built NCS to do. As Singapore advances its national AI agenda, we are committed to helping our clients turn that ambition into real, measurable outcomes,” Liew said.

Taking a deeper look at the new capabilities of Sunshine.AI, NCS has made a strong focus on providing organizations with the capability to deploy AI within their own environments while maintaining full data control. As such, the suite not only sovereign, enterprise-grade AI with safety, governance, and compliance built in from day one, but it's also built by practitioners for practitioners. This means the multi-model and multi-modal portfolio spans an AI foundational platform to Physical AI.

The new capabilities include:

NCS has also upgraded its proven tools with agentic AI capabilities. This includes Sunshine.coder, which has lifted developer productivity and quality by 15%; Sunshine.operations, which has cut IT incident escalations by 40%; Sunshine.productivity, which saves employees over two hours a week. These upgrades are complemented by Sunshine.kaisense, NCS' advanced video AI platform for real-time monitoring and analysis.

Becoming an AI-led tech services company

One of the biggest notable changes in NCS since Liew took over as CEO is the restructuring of how the company works with its partners. In a media briefing session, Liew shared that exercise was more towards a reorganization to build better services.

This has resulted in a new operating structure that brings sector expertise closer to clients. NCS has reorganized into 10 industry-specific Operating Groups, supported by two Service Organizations: Applications and Communications Engineering (ACE) for AI-agent-led delivery, and Digital Resilience (DR) for secure and resilient operations. This structure is anchored by the newly created AI Central team, which drives strategy, accelerates innovation, and ensures the safe and responsible adoption of AI across the organization.

Leading this initiative is Edward Chen, Chief AI Officer. According to Chen, NCS has been part of Singapore's computerization and digitalization journey, and now as the country makes AI a national priority, he believes NCS has a lot to support for both clients and also Singapore at large as it moves in this direction.

“We are reorganizing ourselves in an AI-led way. The creation of AI Central, which I lead, is centered around four key ideas,” he said.

The four key areas ar AI-native speedboats, where everything done is wrapped amount AI at speed. The second area is around forward-deployed engineers where NCS will work with clients to scale from prototype to production as well as integration. Third is around scaling and sustainability to serve more clients in much greater depth. The last area is partnerships whereby NCS will leverage the strength of local research communities in higher learning institutes to apply their AI research.

Taking a look at where NCS is deploying AI, the use cases include AI deployments in healthcare, education, transport, enterprise AI, physical AI and healthtech. In healthrcare, NCS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IHH Healthcare to establish a Joint AI Centre of Excellence, which be used to co-develop and deploy AI solutions across IHH’s multinational network to enhance clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and cost management.
