Jacob Pereira leaves Zoom

Pereira joined Zoom in 2021 and has been leading the company’s channel ecosystem in the region.

Jacob Periera, Head of APAC Partners at Zoom, is leaving the company after nearly five years in the role. Announcing his departure in a LinkedIn post, Pereira said “the time has come to move a new chapter.”

Pereira, who joined Zoom in 2021, has been leading the company’s channel ecosystem in the region, working with partners to build the channel ecosystem in the region as the vendor moved towards a channel first strategy. Prior to joining Zoom, Pereira had senior channel leadership and marketing roles at Nutanix and Dell Technologies.

“From building a channel ecosystem across Asia Pacific to championing a channel-first strategy — none of it would have been possible without an absolutely incredible group of people. To our Zoom APAC Channels, Alliances, and Service Provider partners — you were the reason the team and I showed up every day. Thank you for trusting us,” he stated in his post.

Pereira also thanked Zoom’s APAC and global channel leadership team for their guidance, vision and culture that set the tone and which he is grateful for.

While it's unclear where Pereira is headed to next, he is certainly leaving the Zoom’s APAC channel team well prepared to continue supporting their partners in the region.

“Zoom didn't just teach me about building a channel ecosystem — it reminded me that the best work is always built on trust, people, and a shared belief in what's possible,” he concluded.

Many of Zoom’s partners in the APAC region also thanked Pereira for his support to the channel, especially in helping and guiding them grow the business in the region.

Pereira’s departure from Zoom also comes as the company announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Common Room, an AI-native Go-to-Market (GTM) intelligence platform that turns fragmented signals and siloed customer data into complete, person-level buyer intelligence and activates it with AI agents.

Zoom also recently expanded its ZoomMate with AI agents to be built directly into workflows and introduced Zoom AI On-Prem, which enables organizations to deploy Zoom AI capabilities within their customer-controlled infrastructure. These announcements come as the tech company looks to cater to more regulated enterprises and also meet data sovereignty requirements, which is becoming a key requirement for businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
