Fortinet launches FortiNDR Cloud PoP in Singapore

Fortinet has launched a FortiNDR Cloud PoP in Singapore to support regional access to its cloud-based network detection and response service.

Fortinet has launched a FortiNDR Cloud Point-of-Presence in Singapore, adding local infrastructure for its cloud-based network detection and response service in Asia-Pacific.

According to the cybersecurity vendor, the Singapore PoP will support customers in ASEAN and the wider region by bringing FortiNDR Cloud services closer to where organizations operate. The deployment is also intended to address operational, performance, and regional compliance requirements.

FortiNDR Cloud is designed to detect suspicious network activity across on-premises, cloud, hybrid, Internet of Things, and operational technology environments. The service analyzes network traffic and metadata to identify behavior that may not be detected through traditional security tools.

The platform uses AI-based analytics, behavioral detection, and threat intelligence from FortiGuard Labs. Fortinet said these capabilities are intended to help security teams detect anomalous activity, investigate incidents, and reduce the time attackers remain inside a network.

Jack Chan, vice president of product management and field CTO for APAC at Fortinet, said organizations across ASEAN and Asia-Pacific are operating in "increasingly complex digital environments," where security teams have to manage cloud adoption, hybrid operations, and cyber risks.

He said many organizations are looking to use AI to improve security outcomes, but "fragmented environments and limited visibility" continue to create operational challenges. Chan said Fortinet's investment in Singapore reflects its commitment to helping customers build cyber resilience through "integrated, AI-powered security capabilities delivered closer to where they operate."

The service also includes AI-powered guidance, natural language capabilities, and retrospective threat hunting for up to 365 days. These features are designed to help security operations center teams review past activity, investigate potential threats, and improve visibility across distributed environments.

Jess Ng, country head for Singapore and Brunei at Fortinet, said organizations in Singapore are prioritizing "visibility, operational efficiency, and faster response" as cyber threats become harder to detect.

Ng said the Singapore-based FortiNDR Cloud PoP brings detection and response capabilities closer to customers, helping them "improve visibility across distributed environments" and support more efficient security operations.

Fortinet said the Singapore PoP forms part of its broader cybersecurity infrastructure investment in Asia-Pacific. The company said customers and partners in the region can access security services through infrastructure located closer to their operations.
