Lenovo expands Security Services with Absolute

Lenovo expanded its Security Services portfolio with Security Services with Absolute for distributed workforce security controls.

Lenovo has expanded its Security Services portfolio with Security Services with Absolute, a managed cyber resilience offering for maintaining security controls across distributed workforces.

The service uses Absolute Security's firmware-level resilience capabilities and Lenovo's managed security operations. Lenovo said it allows essential security controls to recover automatically when disrupted, with less manual intervention from internal IT teams.

Security Services with Absolute is supported by Lenovo's global Security Operations Center, which operates 24x7x365. Security specialists monitor activity across customer environments and help identify and respond to threats.

Service uses Absolute's firmware-level recovery capabilities

The service sits within Lenovo's broader cyber resiliency framework, which covers identity and access management, data protection, extended detection and response, visibility and risk management, and security for AI.

Lenovo said the framework gives customers a single service model for protection, response, continuity, and recovery. The company also said the approach can reduce system downtime by up to 50% and lower remediation costs by up to 40%. It did not provide details on how those figures were calculated.

Rakshit Ghura, Vice President and General Manager of Digital Workplace Solutions at Lenovo, said organizations often have to coordinate across multiple vendors, platforms, and support teams after cyber incidents. He said Lenovo's model brings devices, security technologies, managed services, and partner capabilities into one operating structure.

Lenovo said its Security Services portfolio has been recognized in the 2026 Fortress Cybersecurity Awards across cyber resilience, application security, and AI security categories. ISG Research also described Lenovo Security Services as combining hardware trust, multi-layered protection, and AI-enabled operations within a unified framework.

TraceLock covers lost and disconnected devices

Lenovo also introduced ThinkShield TraceLock, powered by Absolute Security, for lost, stolen, or disconnected devices. The product allows IT teams to remotely locate, wake, and wipe devices outside the reach of traditional endpoint management tools.

Endpoint security tools typically rely on an active operating system or network connection. ThinkShield TraceLock uses built-in cellular connectivity to maintain access when devices are powered off or disconnected.

Lenovo said the product can help organizations protect sensitive data and support compliance policies when hardware is missing or compromised. The company identified healthcare, financial services, government, and the public sector as target industries.

ThinkShield TraceLock is already available on select ThinkPad devices starting July 1.

Lenovo's cyber resiliency framework integrates with technology providers including Absolute, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, SentinelOne, and Veeam. Its AI-enabled Security Operations Center coordinates protection, response, and recovery activity across the managed service model.

The framework is structured around five areas: identity and access management, data protection, extended detection and response, visibility and risk management, and security for AI. Lenovo said the model is intended to reduce the need for customers to coordinate separately with multiple providers during threat management and incident response.
