Palo Alto Networks has unveiled Idira, a next-generation identity security platform to discover, control and govern all identities, eliminating the silos that have left the modern enterprise exposed. The new solution comes following the closing of the CyberArk acquisition and is now available as a significant upgrade for existing CyberArk customers and the industry as well.

According to Palo Alto Networks’ 2026 Identity Security Landscape Report, 9 out of 10 organizations faced a successful identity-related breach in the last 12 months. The report also revealed that machine identities, including AI agents, now outnumber human identities 109:1.

In Singapore, machine identities now outnumber human identities by 107:1. 90% of organizations in Singapore also experienced a successful identity-related breach in the last 12 months. The rise of agentic workforce is also a key factor to enhance identity security with 89% of organizations in Singapore expecting their AI agent identities to grow over the next 12 months.

For Teck Wee Lim, Area VP Sales, ASEAN at Palo Alto Networks, with 90% of organizations reporting an identity-related breach in the last year, it is clear that the threat landscape is evolving faster than most can govern it.

“In this environment, the security mandate must shift; it is no longer enough to simply verify a login. The priority is to ensure, in real time, that the chain of trust has not drifted and that every access request makes sense for the task at hand,” Lim said.

In order to stay ahead and be able to deal with increasing cybersecurity threats, Lim stated that leaders will have to stop treating visibility as the finish line.

“The end goal is to close the loop between detection and enforcement. By mapping our agentic workflows, moving to time-bound access, removing the silos, and automating the identity lifecycle, leaders can ensure that security moves at the same speed as the systems it protects,” he added.

Closing the gap with Idira

The launch of Idira comes at a time where its imperative for organizations to have better visibility on both human and machine identities.
