Fastly also announced a distribution partnership in Indonesia with PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia (SMI) to help Indonesian organizations improve website and application performance while protecting against today's evolving cyber threats.

Fastly announces distribution partnerships in Singapore and Indonesia. In Singapore, Fastly announced a distribution partnership with Ingram Micro in Singapore as the vendor looks to strengthen its commitment to the country’s enterprise market.

The partnership is also Fastly's first distribution agreement in Singapore, with the vendor looking to leverage Ingram Micro's extensive partner ecosystem to enable organizations to build faster, more secure and more resilient digital experiences.

Over in Indonesia, Fastly is partnering with PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia (SMI) to help Indonesian organizations improve website and application performance while protecting against today's evolving cyber threats.

The distribution agreements follow the continued expansion of Fastly in the region. In April, Fastly announced a partnership with VSTECS Phils as its first distributor in the Philippines.

According to Rachel Ler, Area Vice President, Asia at Fastly, enterprises across Singapore are rethinking the infrastructure that powers their digital experiences as AI, cloud-native applications and APIs become increasingly central to business growth.

"Organizations need platforms that can deliver performance, security and programmability at scale, without adding complexity. Together with Ingram Micro, we’re expanding access to Fastly’s edge cloud platform and equipping partners with the technology, expertise and support they need to help customers build AI-ready digital experiences that are fast, secure and resilient,” she said.

For Eunice Lau, Executive Managing Director at Ingram Micro, the partnership with Fastly reflects the distributor’s shared commitment to helping enterprises modernize their digital infrastructure for the AI era.

“By combining Fastly's programmable edge cloud platform with Ingram Micro's extensive partner ecosystem, the collaboration will equip organizations with the performance, security and resilience needed to power the next generation of digital experiences,” Lau said.

Meanwhile, Lie Heng, Director of PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia & VP of KORIKA Industry & Business said the partnership between PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia and Fastly comes at a critical time when Indonesian organizations are prioritizing data and cybersecurity investments.

"Our collaboration will enable enterprises in Indonesia to leverage world-class edge cloud, content delivery and security solutions. By combining Fastly's innovative technology with PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia’s extensive channel ecosystem and local expertise, we aim to help organizations accelerate digital transformation and deliver faster, safer, and more reliable digital experiences," Heng said.

SMI specializes in the digital distribution business with two main lines of service—Solutions and Distribution—partnering with world-class IT companies. The company operates seven distribution centers located in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Medan, and Makassar and is supported by logistics centers and a sales force spread across major cities in Indonesia.

Fastly’s programmable edge cloud platform helps the world’s top brands deliver online experiences that are fast, safe, and engaging through edge compute, delivery, security, and observability offerings that improve site performance, enhance security, and empower innovation at a global scale.

Enabling businesses in Singapore with better AI performance

Taking a deeper look at the partnership, Fastly's programmable edge cloud platform will help organizations throughout Ingram Micro’s extensive network of resellers and systems integrators modernize the infrastructure that powers their websites, applications and APIs.

Customers in Singapore can expect improved digital performance to deliver better customer experiences and support business growth, greater cyber resilience to protect business-critical applications and minimize downtime as well as the scalability and flexibility needed to support AI, cloud-native applications and modern digital services.

Apart from that, customers will also have access to simplified operations through a unified platform for performance, security and compute plus faster access to expertise and local support through Ingram Micro's partner ecosystem.

For Ingram Micro’s channel partners, they will have access to Fastly's programmable edge cloud platform, enabling partners to deliver modern application delivery, security and compute solutions to enterprise customers.

Partners will also be provided with training, technical enablement, and go-to-market support to help them expand their cloud and cybersecurity service offerings. These new opportunities will help organizations modernize legacy infrastructure and strengthen their cyber resilience in the AI era. Partners will also have the ability to support customers on their AI and cloud transformation journeys through secure, high-performance digital infrastructure.

For SMI, the partnership enables Indonesian organizations to gain access to Fastly's complete suite of edge cloud platform solutions, including high-performance content delivery, modern application and API security, edge computing, and observability.

A channel first strategy

In a conversation with CRN Asia, Ler also explained that Fastly has been very focused on its channel first strategy.

“We realized as an organization that we need to expand our presence to touch local enterprises, which was really the key foundation of why we need to have a channel ecosystem. It has driven us to a point where, besides having the local resources, we want to make sure that we can grow at scale. Ingram Micro is very strategic for us in Singapore, because Singapore is a tough market,” she said.

Ler also shared that as distributors work with a lot of vendors, they needed to make sure that Fastly could bring the value proposition forward for Ingram Micro to kind of complete a solution stack that the distributor was looking at.

“This is something that was really important as they were driving a lot of AI adoption conversations to AI monetization. In Singapore, most of the organization are looking at AI monetization, and if not, it's how to reduce costs. For us to partner with Ingram, that kind of completes the story for them to be able to have an edge platform to bring their partner to complete the tech stack that they're looking at,” she explained.

As the partnership with Ingram Micro is focused on Singapore and the SMI partnership focused on Indonesia, Ler added that Fastly will also be announcing distribution partners in other markets in Southeast Asia, with Thailand and Malaysia on the horizon.

“So, we've been very deliberate in terms of looking at their tech stack and how we fit into their space and making sure that we can bring that value to the local partners. So, every country, we kind of have different distributors carrying us just because we kind of evaluate the fit first and then whether are we on a common strategy and is what they want to bring to the market,” she said.
