Tech Data expands IBM distribution to six new markets in APAC

Tech Data has expanded its IBM distribution footprint across the Asia Pacific region as part of TD SYNNEX’s global expansion. The expansion includes 20 new countries across APAC, Europe and Latin America, advancing global scale and enabling more consistent, partner-led growth across markets.

As the #1 global value-added IBM distributor and the 2026 IBM Distribution Growth Leader, TD SYNNEX has been an IBM partner for more than 30 years and also contributed around US$4 billion to IBM’s global revenue.

In the APAC region, the IBM portfolio will be available through Tech Data in six additional markets. They include Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines. In Malaysia, the IBM portfolio will be distributed by Tec-D, which is also part of TD SYNNEX.

The new markets build on Tech Data’s existing specialized IBM practice in Australia, India, Singapore, and Vietnam. The expansion will see also IBM solutions extended with partners being able to achieve to greater growth and scale across the region. The move is expected to support a more consistent partner experience and unlock new growth opportunities across both existing and expansion markets.

According to Jaideep Malhotra, President of TD SYNNEX APJ, the expansion reflects the continued strength of the partnership between Tech Data and IBM across Asia Pacific.

“Together, we are creating greater access to IBM technologies, expertise, and support for partners across ten APJ markets, enabling them to capture new growth opportunities and deliver greater value to their ecosystem and customers,” he said.

For Mark Martin, VP, Global Vendor Management, TD SYNNEX, the expansion extends their reach into additional markets while connecting with a broader set of partners looking to grow their IBM business.

The expansion also brings Select Blue, a joint initiative with IBM, to partners across the region. The program provides a structured framework to build scalable, repeatable practices in areas such as AI, data and automation. More broadly, partners will also have access to Tech Data’s enablement, financing, pre-sales and go-to-market support.

“Through our program Select Blue, we’re providing a clear path to engage, specialize, and execute confidently, helping both new and existing partners enter new markets and accelerate revenue growth,” Martin said.
