Huawei promises better incentives for partners
In the Asia Pacific region, Huawei Cloud's compound annual growth rate exceeded 40% in the past five years, with more than half of this revenue coming from partners.
Despite geopolitical concerns and sanctions imposed on the vendor by some countries, Huawei Cloud continues to grow its dominance globally. While the cloud vendor is still not in the top five cloud providers globally, Huawei Cloud continues to see strong adoption in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
At the recent Huawei Cloud Global Sales Partner Policy launch in Singapore, Li Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Computing Global Sales, shared that the Chinese cloud vendor’s partner business grew more than 50% in 2025 and is expected to only expand more this year.
Specifically, Huawei Cloud has more than 40 global distributors and 50 core/premier cloud solution providers as partners outside China. Its ecosystem has over 4,000 global partners, and hundreds of thousands of paying customers. This achievement is supported by Huawei Cloud’s commitment to enhance trust, profitability, simplicity, and growth. The cloud vendor is now focused on rewarding partners by fully upgrading its partner incentive framework this year.
Looking at the Asia Pacific region, Huawei Cloud's compound annual growth rate in the region has exceeded 40% in the past five years. More than half of this revenue is coming from partners. For customers in APAC, Huawei Cloud has over 50 financial, 200 government and enterprise, and 500 Internet and cloud native customers. The vendor also has local teams serving more than 10 countries.
According to Dale Chen, Director of Huawei Cloud Asia Pacific Sales Partner Development, in APAC, the focus for Huawei Cloud and partners is on migrating core financial systems to the cloud, helping carriers achieve AI transformation and XtoB transformation, and leveraging AI-powered operational efficiency and public services for government and Internet customers.
Upgraded partner policy for holistic growth
Speaking at the partner policy launch event in Singapore, Li explained that the upgraded partner policy will consist of four pillars of support that Huawei Cloud will provide partners to foster their holistic growth.
These four pillars are namely: amplifying partner voices on Huawei Cloud's global media matrix, helping partners improve their brand image using over 50 global benchmarks for key communication, upgrading partner benefits such as a bigger Market Development Fund and full support of their promotions, and finally inviting partners to participate in Huawei Cloud's own global marketing activities.
“I want to share and introduce our Optimize the Benefits plan to our partners. The benefits include several parts which are the must-do items. The first is the Market Development Fund. For this part, we believe our partners are very important to help Huawei to develop the market. So, we hope we increase the volume, no matter for the distributors and the CSPs, for the marketing fund. Through this way, we hope during 2026, our partners can arrange more activities in marketing to promote more and more the Huawei brand awareness and technology awareness,” Li said.
Li added that Huawei will continue to support and provide examples to partners in order to support them to improve their competency as well as provide several technical and resource support to help partners have more availability to work with Huawei.
“In 2025, the quarterly incentive is based on the incremental. This year, we will change it to be based on the total volume for the quarterly incentive. We encourage our partners, once you have the positive growth quarterly, then every year you can get this incentive rebate. Our annual incentive and rebate is based on the incremental. With a certain amount, we will give you the annual incentive to encourage you. You work more, you will get more money. Besides this, we also design the authorized discount because we expect our partners can close the deal by themselves. There is no need to go to Huawei staff to apply for the commercial as it will be time-consuming and lower efficiency. So, this is the majority part for us to optimize the incentive policy,” Li explained.
Li also shared other incentives that will be available to its various partners, from distributors to cloud service providers. To ensure the SMB segment is also not left behind, Li added that Huawei cloud will be dedicated to the market with specific offerings for SMBs.
Partners are also encouraged to share their views and suggestions with Huawei Cloud to ensure they have a healthy partner environment.
“I expect our partners to be give us more open, transparent and valuable suggestions. Our purpose for our partner is profitability, simplicity, trust and growth. To support this, we will provide better training, better benefits, better incentives and better support,” he said.
At the conference, partners from Thailand (Vonosis), Singapore (Wormwood), Argentina (Movistar), and Türkiye (Logosoft) shared testimonials of exploring global markets and growing together.
In the future, Huawei Cloud will work closely with partners to explore the potential of digital transformation and intelligent upgrade of different industries, contributing to the high-quality development of the global digital economy. This is the foundation of partnership – seizing opportunities brought by AI innovation that build a fully connected, intelligent world.
