Leaseweb becomes new VMware Cloud Service Provider Pinnacle Tier Partner in Singapore
The Dutch sovereign hybrid cloud services provider is now a VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) Pinnacle tier partner in the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program and only one of the few Pinnacle partners operating in Singapore.
Leaseweb is now a VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) Pinnacle tier partner in the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program in the European Economic Area, Singapore and the United States. The Dutch hybrid cloud services provider has a global presence with offices in 10 countries.
With its global infrastructure spanning across 28 strategically located data centers, Leaseweb provides a robust foundation for mission-critical websites, applications, and data storage and is the only Dutch cloud provider that participates directly in the European innovation program IPCEI-CIS, which aims to strengthen Europe’s cloud and edge infrastructure.
As a VCSP Pinnacle tier partner, Leaseweb will help mutual enterprise customers to innovate by adopting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) as their private cloud infrastructure. The includes offering VMware Cloud Foundation as new managed private or sovereign cloud services, supporting data residency and other jurisdictional controls.
According to Lex Boost, Co-CEO of Leaseweb, customers need continuity, control and confidence in the VMware environments that support their business-critical workloads.

With VCF, customers are empowered with a consistent cloud operating model spanning data centers, edge, and managed cloud infrastructure from VCSP partners. VCF combines the agility and scalability of public cloud with the security, performance, architectural control and total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits of an on-premises environment.

Speaking to CRN Asia on how the recognition boosts Leaseweb’s presence in Singapore, Pieter Kraan, Managing Director APAC, Leaseweb shared that with the increased need for real sovereign solutions, particularly given the global geopolitical situation, organizations are looking at their data sovereignty and security from a broader perspective, and customers are increasingly considering a private cloud strategy.
“This announcement is critical for us, as is our presence locally in Singapore. Because we have local expertise on the ground, our partners and customers get a reliable and predictable service from the infrastructure that they know and trust, with support from experienced Leaseweb teams,” he said.
Kraan also pointed out that many organizations in Singapore are reevaluating their cloud strategies, as awareness around the challenges created by relying totally on US-based hyperscalers is growing. Kraan added that these organization’s data may be sovereign, but from a security perspective, it’s still subject to US rules and regulations.
“Organizations are looking to diversify, and so a European-based provider such as Leaseweb has a very unique offering for Singapore and the wider Asia region. This is what many customers are now factoring into their decisions around their cloud strategy, in addition to cost and predictability - location is more crucial now than ever before,” Kraan explained.
Another interesting point Kraan shared is that since Broadcom changed its partner strategy, it now only has a small number of Pinnacle partners operating in Singapore.
“Because of this, Broadcom can support us better, which in turn benefits our partners and customers. Both the support available and the speed of that support will increase significantly, while training for our people is now more intense to ensure they are as knowledgeable as possible. We’re striving to help our partners and MSPs to support their customers faster and more effectively, and this new partnership is part of our plan to achieve this,” he concluded.
