VSP One fuels Hitachi Vantara's APAC surge as revenue rises 32%

APAC revenue increased 32% year over year, with product revenue growing 52% and Hitachi Vantara storage revenue rising 61%.

Hitachi Vantara recorded a 32% increase in revenue year over year in the APAC region as the data storage, infrastructure and hybrid cloud management vendor announced results for its first quarter of the fiscal year 2026.

The vendor also revealed that product revenue across third-party offerings grew 52% while storage revenue in the region rose 61%, reflecting continued demand for the Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) portfolio as organizations modernize mission-critical infrastructure and build AI-ready data foundations.

Taking look at the markets in APAC, Korea recorded a 185% growth year over year while Mainland China experienced a 112% growth. Australia and New Zealand had 30% growth while the Southeast Asian region recorded 22% growth.

Overall, Hitachi Vantara’s APAC block portfolio revenue increased 58% year over year, with high-end storage revenue growing 48% and midrange storage revenue increasing 65%.

According to Wendy Koh, Vice President and General Manager for APAC, the results underscore growing enterprise investment in modern data infrastructure across APAC as organizations seek to support AI initiatives, strengthen cyber resilience and reduce operational complexity.

“The momentum we're seeing across Asia Pacific reflects a common challenge facing organizations today: how to modernize critical infrastructure while preparing for an AI-driven future,” Koh said.

She added that organizations are looking for ways to simplify increasingly complex data environments while improving resilience, operational efficiency and business agility.

“Our first-quarter performance reflects the confidence customers place in Hitachi Vantara to help them address these challenges and create lasting value from their data,” she said.

The role of partners

Koh also shared that Hitachi Vantara’s partner ecosystem plays a critical role in both the vendor’s customer success and growth strategy across the region. Hitachi Vantara's partner ecosystem in APAC spans across technology alliance partners, managed service providers, global systems integrators, resellers, and public cloud partners, combining the vendor’s data infrastructure with complementary technologies and expertise to address customers' broader business and technology needs.

“In a region as diverse as APAC, our partners are a force multiplier, enabling scale, expanding our reach to new customers, providing deep local market and industry expertise, and complementing our capabilities across each country. Together, we strengthen customer engagement, extend market coverage, and deliver solutions that align with local business and technology requirements,” she said.

Koh also mentioned that Hitachi Vantara is encouraged by the momentum the vendor recorded in the first quarter.

“We continue to see opportunities across the region driven primarily by accelerating AI adoption and growing demand for AI-ready infrastructure, as organizations seek to manage larger volumes of data, improve cyber resilience and simplify operations,” she added.

VSP One

According to Koh, VSP One is helping customers address these requirements by bringing block, file and object data together on a unified platform, while supporting both existing mission-critical applications and newer AI workloads.

Built on Hitachi Vantara’s strong experience in the industry, VSP One brings block, file and object data together within a unified platform. This helps organizations reduce complexity, strengthen resilience and make critical data more accessible across on-premises and cloud environments.

Specifically, the VSP One Block portfolio supports enterprises ranging from mid-sized organizations to the largest and most demanding environments. VSP One Block High End extends the portfolio to support mission-critical applications, mainframe systems and AI workloads, enabling organizations to consolidate open systems and mainframe workloads on a common platform.

As AI systems increasingly rely on transactional and mainframe systems of record, VSP One Block High End delivers the performance, availability and cyber resilience organizations need at scale. VSP 360 provides centralized management and operational visibility, helping teams simplify operations across the environment.

The growth in APAC reflects IDC’s report that stated worldwide external OEM enterprise storage systems revenue increased 22.7% year over year during the first three months of 2026, driven by AI infrastructure demand and deferred refresh spending.
